I'm want to play PR could somebody answer a few questions?

I know this may be the wrong forum but I couldn't find anywhere else. After coming across PR today I am dying to play it! I've always loved strategic games and this is just mind blowing but before I jump in could somebody please answer a few questions?

- I don't own BF2 on PC (I've played EVERY console version + 1942&2142) so where is the best place to buy without restrictions to applying PR?

- Is there a large player base in PR I.E. will I be able to jump into a game with people or wont anyone be playing?

Probably your best option is steam (somebody from the UK might step in and suggest an alternative)

Generally there is always a full server somewhere in the world If you click the PRSPY button at the top of the page you'll get a list of how many players are online right now

I figured steam would be the easiest place which I have no problem with, just wondered if it was better to have an actual disk copy.

As for the players side of things that's excellent to know as it was one of the things i was slightly concerned about.

I see a few others have helped out however I'll just add a few things.
I'd recommend buying a hard copy or a CD key for BF2 because Steam has been known to cause troubles (most Steam-related bugs solvable,) but in very rare cases it denies the user the ability to play mods.

Also, with the new release of PR: Vietnam the amount of players online during weekends ranges anywhere from 600-800+. Peak times during week days often have 400-600 players online.

Just to add when you join a server (after reading the manual) and join a ssquad make sure you let the squad leader know your new. The PR players love fresh meat who are kean to play the game properly, the more maturaty you give the more you will get out of the game and fellow players.

I was in my local PC world at the weekend and they had BF2 complete collection for ?10 on one of the spinny CD stands. Thats if you dont like Steam. Worth a try.

this goes for buying the game on CDs online and not steam. just make sure that when you buy that the game is brand new still in original packaging. because you dont want someone else with the same CD key. Here is a good place to buy I picked up BF2 on here for $12. then all you have to does is patch the game to 1.41 first then 1.50.and then download/install PR.
