PR won't start
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Quad core 3.6 GHz processor, 8gb RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6670. I start up Project Reality, it shows the picture, sits there for 10 seconds, then when I click it tells me it stopped responding. I already tried deleting my BF2 profile. BF2 is up to date. Anyone know how to help me?

Have you ran vBF2 first to setup profiles? Installed all in order ( patches for BF2 )? Running on admin account and running PR as admin?

Re: PR won't start
Yes. I jumped into a match a little bit ago, just to make sure it wasn't anything due to BF2.
also when you delete the profile you need to run BF2 again
I had a similar problem

Next step. Add this to your pr shortcut so it looks like this.
If you get any errors take screenshot and post here if possible.
Code: Select all
"\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0-

Re: PR won't start
I added the code. That didn't help. I also just uninstalled and then reinstalled PR. Then I re-added the code. Still, nothing.

Re: PR won't start
Not even error message? Thats strange. Do you have Net Framework 3.5.1 enabled on your PC?
Control panel> Turn windows features on or off, tick Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 if its not already let it install it and reboot.
Can you please also copy the target line from you PR shortcut and post it here? Also where you downloaded PR from? All 3 parts ( installers ), Desura...do you have PR v0.973? Is BF2 retail copy or digital one and from where?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\pr.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0
Thats my target line. I downloaded all 3 parts of PR from ModDB. It is version .973. BF2 is a digital copy from Origin.

What type of AV/IS software are you using? Can you disable it temporary and then check again?
Also check that your drive is not encrypted and that your My Documents> Battlefield 2 folder is not set to read only.

Re: PR won't start
I am having the same problem I think. I used windows task manager and found out that pr.exe stops taking more processor speed at around 11,000k - 12,000k and that BF2.exe never launches. I think that this has something key to do with the problem. Any suggestions?

Re: PR won't start
Only thing I can think of is PR.exe is unable to find or launch BF2.exe for some reason.
As I said above add +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 to your shortcut target line and any errors should be displayed. Make sure you installed PR in Battlefield 2 root directory.
Check your registry entries by pressing Win+R and type regedit. Search for these values

Take screenshots of both if possible and post here.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2

Re: PR won't start
ACE1918 you MUST start vanilla BF2, create a profile, login, join a multiplayer server online,
while playhing on the vanilla BF2 server, adjust your video settings to your preferences.
shut down vanilla BF2, then start PR,
this has to be done to create the registry entries and the /mydocs/battlefield2/ directories.
Report back here if still a problem.

Sgt.Snapyaneck,
follow Massive's directions on post #13 above,
make sure your InstallDir Key is set to your BF2 installation folder in your reply #10.
make sure your Version Key is set to Full 0973

I had the same problem the first time ive downloaded PR.
You need to play vanilla BF2 first, join a server, then install PR.
I hope it works.
