Sure the HD is cheaper... but there's 4 times the space in one of the other recommendations and the other was purportedly faster still. How does the cheap HD actually run?
And I haven't just tried to solve the supplier problem from my 'cozy chair'. Matter of fact I'm using a couch that's about 7 inches too short for my new desk and need to buy a proper office chair- .- I've been out pricing left right and center, and I already asked my brother. He was the one who sent me to you guys, and a computer repair shop up town that maybe, possibly, could - if the planets were aligned on the same day that I went in and a combination of overhead powerlines and sunspots flaring up were causing a magnetic disturbance that could warp the space time continuum - give me a consultation. It's not like you have to live in Ireland to know, either. If you folks order PC parts in all the time, surely you know of one or two international suppliers?
My brother Psyko told me to inquire about some "knomes". Think he meant gnomes> _>

I believe Scan.co.uk deliver to Eire (Aka Ireland)
Computer Hardware - Scan.co.uk
Used them to buy some of my parts, reliable and quick delivery, for UK mainland though.
Edit: Also you may want to look at the 7850 instead of the 6950... It uses less power and performs better at higher resolutions, and is cheaper. Or even the 7870
, but ofc that costs an extra ?60.

Think you got a bit wrong idea. Were not commercial entities here and where I live there is a problem similar to your in general and high taxes and whatnot.Akai Kitsune wrote:Sure the HD is cheaper... but there's 4 times the space in one of the other recommendations and the other was purportedly faster still. From the site Pedz suggested
CPU - Intel CPU Core i5 Unlocked 2500K Sandy Bridge Quad Core Processor - BX80623I52500K - Scan.co.uk - 168.18GBP
Mainboard - Gigabyte GA-H77-D3H Intel H77 Socket 1155 Motherboard - Scan.co.uk - 77.72GBP
Memory - Corsair Memory Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9 XMP Dual Channel Desktop - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B - Scan.co.uk - 37.39GBP
Hard drive - Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB Hard Drive - HDD - HD502HJ - Scan.co.uk - 74.12GBP
.........I tried making a list but IM sorry that site got 6950 for 200GBP which is around $320...Id say thats too much and this is overpriced.

Out of stock, out of stock, out of stock, out of stock... the ******** have the internet spammed with advertisements for products they don't have! Been looking for the 6950 for a couple of weeks now, and the only ones I've been able to find are all overpriced as all hell. Amazon's selling them for $400! videocardshop | Best price video cards available to buy online This is the best I've found so far. 6950 2gig for roughly ?210. Not sure if they deliver outside the UK, either. Now all I have to do is try to get them to actually sell me the product and then I can be a happy camper... after I've picked up the other some eight parts (more than likely from 8 different suppliers after rooting around for another 6 months) By the time I get this thing built all the parts will have devalued a lot!

Reason: Because I'm indecisive and forgetful.

I'm 100% certain that amazon.co.uk delivers to Ireland, Amazon.co.uk even has a fulfillment warehouse center in Ireland now.

Burned out... checked another couple of computer superstores and spent a few hours searching through computer parts online since yesterday... when I also did that... good advice on Amazon btw; I found a much better price on the graphics card: can you trust purchases made on Amazon though? I was reading up on their guarantee, but they were a bit hedgy as to whether that meant they'd refund in the case of fraud, or if it was just a warantee or what
