The russian HAT and LAT kits
I had a chance on a AAV today as russia, I picked default hat kit of coarse forgetting it has a nearly unusable optic. It really sucks, can we just remove the entire optic that has no use and replace it with a black dot with some lines? Gameplay over realism, the borehole marker is extremely off and this isn't explained in the manual for new players either. Same thing on the Panzerfaust.

Re: The russian HAT and LAT kits
You can select the iron sights HAT at a crate by right clicking instead of left clicking for Russia. Other than that, the German sight is rather common sense...

I fail to see how this solves the problem though, that immediately puts the ruskies at a AT disadvantage if they have no optics on their heavy AT kit and all the others do.=HCM= Shwedor wrote:You can select the iron sights HAT at a crate by right clicking instead of left clicking for Russia. The german sights ballistics are off by 2x and the Russian sights borehole is off by, it doesent work it just plain does not work.

Re: The russian HAT and LAT kits
It can be frustrating to miss a juicy target but the simple solution is a bit of practice.
Fire up a local server or join a training server and crack a beer or coffee (depending on the time of day).
Then just practice with the optics and HAT differences (The tandem warhead drops sooner than the light).
Lots of stuff in PR is rather tricky - that's the challenge!

Why are you bringing in the Germans?
I love their AT, can hit a window at 400 meters with that thing... Wish more AT was like it..
That way, tanks still has a range advantage. Though I do agree partially on the Ruskie one.. Never hit anything other than dirt with the scoped one

The scope on the RPG is zeroed at the 500 metre line. With that in mind it's simply the iron sight one with a little zoom (does it have zoom? Can't remember).

I used the Russian HAT today. My lord, I agree. Whilst it was my first time using it, I fired at least 10+ shots at a tank, and still didn't manage to work out the correct aim with it. Whilst I however didn't know about the right click Irons, that's still unfair

Re: The russian HAT and LAT kits
The real problem is the fact that you do not have deviation indicator unlike on most other HAT.
At least for RPG with Tandem warhead; you should add 100m to the range indicated on the scope(within 100m just use the middle of the screen, use mark "1" at 200m, 1.5 at "250m"...etc.). And all the rules for guided HAT still applies(need to settle the deviation after scoping in; wait 4 sec after reload, mouse movement increase deviation...etc.).
I hope the optics are more useful like the ones on SPG-9.

Re: The russian HAT and LAT kits
truth is none of you guys who claim they can, cant hit a humvee 3 times in a row at 350 with german or russian AT, i kno for a fact, their is a huge disadvantage with the US HAT VS Russians/Germans and it isnt just the guidance system

The bonus to the Russian tandem warhead RPG is: you can fire this while prone.
When you stand up; you are much easier to hit with machine guns and much easier to spot.
When prone, it is a lot less likely that any enemy will spot you.
There are also covers that are so low that you can only go prone to get in; RPG can be used, guided HAT cannot.
No one needs to hit humvee from 350m away with HAT kit.
And what if your guided HAT missed first shot? You are f**ked.
RPG HAT kit carries a maximum of two tandem warheads.
If you plan to snipe a tank that is unaware of your presence from 300m away(assuming that is actually in your view range...), guided HAT is obviously better.
Some times a Tank is sitting still with obstacle between you and it so you only see the machine gun on top; guided missile is not going to hit it that easily while RPG can just be shot over the cover and drop to hit the main body of the Tank.
Russian Infantry is really not supposed to be dealing with tanks at long range; leave that to awesome T90s with ATGM.
Russian Infantry is better against IFV/APC due to two rounds of HAT and the tendency for IFV/APC to engage from closer range than tanks.

how often is it necessary to be prone. Guided rocket has so much more accuracy and range on it, any player can pick it up and use, while the rus/ger kits are just plain horrid to use. if it had something similar to the SPG sight with a deviation counter it would be better. but that's just one suggestion

You waste your only one shot of HAT on humvee?SGT.MARCO wrote:You can hit what you plz with a HAT

Prone is VERY necessary(or do you stand up straight when a tank is looking your way?) to stay alive when tank is looking your way and there is not a high enough wall to cover you.
Also, with a guided HAT; you fire once, maybe kill an APC, then get killed by the other one behind it.
Potential to annihilate two APC(and whoever is inside) without resupply is priceless.

Why are you making a big deal about what he decides to shoot at with a HAT kit? Marco can do what he wants.

Re: The russian HAT and LAT kits
I agree that the Russians could do with a guided HAT (RPG-29 anyone?) but that doesn't necessarily mean the RPG-7 is a bad weapon - it is, frankly, superior to the other HATs at less than 300m, which is to say it's better than the other HATs on every map except Black Gold and Vadso City (and situationally on Silent Eagle and Yamalia).

He is talking about hitting something smaller/more agile than MBT at range(with the only shot guided HAT gets before resupply, thus making it impossible to defend his squad if enemy tanks goes after them).SuperHornet wrote:Why are you making a big deal about what he decides to shoot at with a HAT kit? HAT is used against heavier vehicles for a good reason(you have LAT for lighter vehicles, and Russian RPG-26 is easier to hit with at long range than RPG-7 tandem warhead); especially in temporary rule change when there is only one HAT kit per side.
RPG29 is still not guided.ShockUnitBlack wrote:I agree that the Russians could do with a guided HAT (RPG-29 anyone?) but that doesn't necessarily mean the RPG-7 is a bad weapon - it is, frankly, superior to the other HATs at less than 300m, which is to say it's better than the other HATs on every map except Black Gold and Vadso City (and situationally on Silent Eagle and Yamalia).
But it would definitely be a good replacement for the RPG-7.

RPG-29 is not guided, however it would be nice if it was implemented and handled like the RPG-26 which is pretty accurate.ShockUnitBlack wrote:I agree that the Russians could do with a guided HAT (RPG-29 anyone?) but that doesn't necessarily mean the RPG-7 is a bad weapon - it is, frankly, superior to the other HATs at less than 300m, which is to say it's better than the other HATs on every map except Black Gold and Vadso City (and situationally on Silent Eagle and Yamalia).
