Well, maybe the kit-requesting ability of APC can be disabled if it is on fire.

So your whole argument is based on the fact that an APC crewman shouldnt be able to switch to another kit immediately because it is totally unrealistic to go from, for example, crewman to AT in a second?

How is that any different than a sniper getting out and requesting a combat engy? Or a pilot requesting a rifleman kit? Or dozens of other combinations, vice versa included.

Requesting more than 1 kit per life for any player in general sounds unrealistic to me from your supposed perspective. Do you have a problem that you can back up with evidence, because this seems to be an opinion/"problem" that could be applied to all classes, which you just seem to be pushing onto crewman.

I agree.

I believe a crewman should stick with his kit, as he gets a rifle for a reason. That reason is for self defense, and not to quickly grab a sniper rifle, and think back to his days at sniper school. Specialized kits, tho ones that can't be picked up by enemies, should not be available in APCs. They should still be obtainable from crates, as that is the first place to go if you spawned, granted you require such a kit.

Also, implementing the delay before being able to request a kit, as a crewman, would help against grabbing a rifleman kit. A 3sec/1min delay should be all right, because if you're under fire, you would be death if you stick around your burning APC instead of getting to cover.

So yeah, I agree, why isn't this (completely) implemented (yet)?

The reason why I like it is because if I get shot at by a tank in a Bradley on Kashan, I can get a medic kit and heal myself. Then I wouldn't have to run through the desert bleeding only to die 50m from a crate. If you can't kill the crewman as they bail then you deserve to get the HAT to the face if they decide to get one.

You can drop ammo boxes and keep moving a little bit before getting out of APC and patching up with more patches in ammo boxes.

While that is true, most times I'm more concentrated on finding what hit us and/or getting out since I don't know when I'll blow up. Plus my driver may just bail and forget about doing that. Getting out and requesting a medic after getting hit is pretty much automatic for me.

That suggestion would not work, as you misunderstood the issue, and this is the bf2 section, not ARMA2.

It would apply to both games, and, because a crewman would have to be part of a vehicle squad in the above suggestion, they would be unable to take a HAT kit, thus nullifying the problem.

True, but what would stop the SL from not marking a squad as crewman, so that the crewmen can request other kits. It also seems pretty damn hardcoded. Also, a mech inf squad with the apc in squad would be impossibru.
