An atmospheric realism mod for Project Reality
It's finally arrived! Anders has been working very hard the last few months to give the community the newest version of the soundmod! In this version the emphasis is on the vehicle and environment sounds. Almost every vehicle has received new sounds & all the little details have been accounted for: individual sounds for logistical trucks for every faction, turret moving sounds, reloading sounds, even the sound of dirt crunching under a vehicle, and so much more!Almost every weapon sound since the last release has been improved as well as new explosions, footsteps & bullet hits to give a more immersive experience than ever before.presents

Feedback:
Rattling gear sound is good, but I played as Hamas...is it the same sound for all factions?
Even as INS wearing a dress I would rattle as much as fully loaded marine?
Wounding noises, an improvement, but yet a little squeeky. Kinda high pitch. And short.

Well if the bf2 would allow footsteps for certain soldiers or if Ill find a way to make it happen I would've choose only clothing for civis or people with not much of gear.Mellanbror wrote:Had a quick try. But I can say this; I rather have gearsounds for everyone than nothing all. Then soldier would sound like a common pedestrian. Don't want that.
Actually about the deathscreams. Every faction/soldier/class can have their unique diesounds. But that shouldve taken me very long to do. And where would I find actor? I tjusning to atleast make factions have different deathsounds. Wont work with revivesounds and hurtsounds though. But I like the screams as they are now aswell. Even a big beardy guy would scream like ? pig if hes shot in his nuts.

That's what I call improvement. Anders, you're a genius! I simply loved each and every new sound in this mod.
Still, I have a few remarks to make.
1) I am not sure if this is a PR issue or it came about after your modifications, but I couldn't help noticing that a logi truck sometimes would continue rolling slowly (not sliding, that is, the wheels actually rotate) after you come to a stop and jump out. I kind of spotted it because it kept on happening on flat concrete surface.
2) Maybe I am wrong, but it seemed to me that when driving a logi truck on a flat field (e.g. airbase/airstrip) the sound it makes is the one of frequent and continuous gear switching, what would normally happen on an inclined road or a hill.
3) Firing a HAT into a distant hill (about 300+ meters away or so) has made a nice distant explosion sound, but the sound effect of falling dirt/debris was just as loud as if the explosion was only 50-70 meters away (i.e. pretty close). Overall, I like the effect, but at some point you may want to tweak this for the distant explosions.
Btw, just in case you need it for the reference, all of the above was observed on Silent Eagle for both factions.
Anyway, criticism aside, thank you for your contribution and hope that it gets implemented into PR (maybe PR v1.0) in some form in the near future.

Guess it's the hurt sound I was referring too. Is there a diffrens in initial hurt-sound and the ones that follow? Piggy getting nutshotted initially; screams high pitched, that works fine. But the ongoing (10-15 intervall) after initiall hurt-sounds. Still want the piggy?
This would be kind of taking the hit all over again. After a while in wounded state it should be more of a tired agonized sound preferably?
Actors...hmm...rip sound from other sources possible? You tube, movies, documentarys etc.

I agree on this one. Thinking about recording the hurtsounds with My own voice as I did with the revive (almost dead) sounds. For hurt sounds go with heavy breathing, and some "tsssss" and "ahhhhhh" sounds.Mellanbror wrote:Thx for reply

Im really impressed! but i love it i didnt had the chance this far to play a good teamwork insurceny round but so far i really love it even when your doing overwatch whit a .50 it is awesome. Really nice work anders. love the falling rocks sound when mortars or explosions go off

some things i dont like after testing a bit:
-volume of new sounds seems to vary alot, e.g. british pistol is louder than assault rifle or tar21 is way louder than m16/ak
-wounded sounds and especially death screams are ridiculous, when you kill someone it sounds like someone is falling of a cliff screaming.
other than that sounds seem to be nice
