guys ,there was a little problem with the installer. We are working on a hotfix for people who allready installed it, and on a new installer for people who didn't have it installed yet. Please stand by for more info.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - HOTFIX + NEW INSTALLER
due to a bug with the installer, you cannot enjoy the newest sounds like we intented. If you didn't have the soundmod 0.4 installed yet, please use this link to download the fixed version of the installer.
However, if you had already installed the soundmod 0.4(11/05/12, before 14:00PRT), please DISABLE the soundmod with the Control Panel shortcut, and after that DELETE the serverarchives.ORIG-BAK file in your PR folder(C:/program files/EA GAMES/battlefield 2/mods/pr). Then you should download a replacement for the control panel HERE. And place this file in the same PR install folder. When asked to replace the old one, choose yes.

im happy you redid the dirtbike sounds :)

i dont know if the hotfix fixed this or not, but there is a strange bug on lashkar valley. you can hear running water in 1 direction with X-FI Ultra setting.

also when you are moving do some of your character movement sounds come from behind? its constantly making me think somebody is behind me lol.

Haha, no. No intention of doing that and it doesnt sound like that to me. I'm running it och Hardware "High".

Arright, just thought I wanted to share with you some new sounds for M4, M16 and AR10. It maybe sound like it is in 0.4, but it should be more powerful now mixed with M16 sounds from another reference.
There were peple who thought those riflesounds was weak and sounded plastic, so I just took the time to experiment with some new samples. Hope it sound more like an 5.56mm carbine weapon now. The AR10 may be a little exaggregated with the reverb, but thats just because it's semi-auto and for gameplay. Can't do that with the ones that has loopsounds for automatic fireing. Thats why I need to make the short and to be more realistic. :)

Loving the new sounds. Only 1 issue, though. Ever since the new update, the American's voices don't show up for some "Q" prompt things.

For example, if someone calls for a medic or ammunition, I don't hear it. I have to pay attention to the icons above their names or they have to tell me through mics.

anders didn't you and rivers do that on purpose? :p Cause those sounds were quite annoying I think( that was the reason). Medic and the other essential ones still work for me. Haven't checked them all.

I thought it was on purpose as well, that's why I didn't report it. Strange.

Geez, you're god damn right man! I get the same in MP, not in coop. Ill get it sorted in next update... Glad you guys took it up now!

Well, I know I've replaced some of the US grunt voices.
This is how I managed it;
Just opened the ones that needed replacing, pasted in the new sounds and then save it as it was. I didnt save new files just opened then and replaced then saved them, still get this silence.

I hope maybe some teammember could give me a hint about this. Very strange indeed. Why would it be silenced????

I actually ran into the same problem with the loader voices I tried back in the day, remember them? Stopped working on them after that...

Well, if its ogg, wich I don't think the loader voice is, it has to be a certain BF2 *.OGG file.

So I've found the problem. Im gonna convert from my ogg files to BF2 ogg files... This will take some time. :)

this is awesome man! it really brings the immersion up a notch! but i do have some constructive criticism, first of all, firing hydras in the apache you only get the sound for 1 out of every two rockets fired when fired repeatedly, im not sure if this is how it is in real life( i tried to do some homework on it but only found one video firing hydras and they made the sound every shot) and with the L85A2 it seems too quiet fired from first person, sometimes it seems that even the distant shots being fired are louder than your own rifle. but other than that its great! and im not trying to rip on your work because i have alot of respect for you doing this project on your own time, just trying to point out any possible problems

Hi guys,

I've been working alot to improve the soundmod even more.

I've bought some really nice quality soundarchives especially one with real and great handgrenade explosions, both closeup and at distance.

Here's some new sounds I probably gonna put in 0.41.

This is just an example cause I have changed including the new AR15 rifles shown in previous video.

M249
Grenadeexplosions/distant explosions
M9 beretta
AK weapons
FNFAL
Simonov
L82A2
M2 Browning
New Blackhawk sounds (the 0.4 sound had a slow rotorsound)
Etc.

I hope you think these are better!

I actually shot an AK47 last weekend and that's very close to what it sounded like. Nice job Anders.
