A few patches you changed the uav, so it would stand still over a position either 2 keypads north of south of the uav map marker instead of moving in the old circular way. Though the idea is good, the engine is totally fucking up this feature. It seems as the engine continues to calculate the circular movement in the background and determines your "view distance" accordingly. I dont mean the distance until the grey "fog of war" appears and blocks your sight entirely. I am speaking about the object view distance, which determines if you can see vehicles, infantry or constructions (fob). So, if you wanna observe a fob pretty far away from our uav marker, that fob will simply "disappear" for 50% of the time (when the uav is flying on the other side of the marker) and reappear out of nowhere a bit later.
I know there aren't many commanders out here, so most guys probably haven't noticed or does care. But i am doing the commander job pretty often at clan matches and it is particularly annoying, if you checked a position, didn't see anything and think the place is clear of anything. In truth the enemy had a fob on that position and because you lost the interest on that place and check other locations, you wont notice it for quiet some time.
Or you try to detect potential dangers for your team (aa, tows, vehicles, ...) and simply dont see them on your uav and give your team situationally wrong orders.
The current uav system is currently unreliable and needs fixing.
Removing the circular movement, is probably the only "easy" way to fix uavs again..
Reintroduce the uavs circular motion.
