[Solved] No servers and mouse freeze
Hello,
I installed BF2 Project, however my servers list is not updating at all.
And when I click on Favorites, the game crashes.
I am also getting an error:
"Unable to open BF2 process"
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Do you have Steam version of Battlefield 2? If so look here for solution.
If not make sure you followed instal instruction here. Make sure you run BF2 and that it works properly before you instal or start Project reality. Run both as administrator if using Vista or Win7. Before you instal PR make sure you have Visual Studio C++, and Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installed. Disable Anitivirus software while installing.

Thanks. That was fixed
Now the problem is when I am in the server and I have to choose my weapon and spawn location, my mouse is not working at all. Not responding at all. And that is the only screen something like that happens

Reset your controls to default while not on server.

I just did that, but still same issue.
The mouse is not working at all and I cant click on the weapon/spawn location. When in the server, the only way the mouse works is when I bring up the menu

re: [Solved] No servers and mouse freeze
Just check your controls and make sure they are not empty. Reset to default and check controls page again. Don't forget to hit apply after you reset to default. Check if your Controls.con in My Documents>Battlefield 2>Profiles>default and 0001, 0002 etc is not set to read only. That goes to complete Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents including all files and subfolders there.

Seems like its missing mouse sensitivity, pitch and yaw factors ( all for mouse ).
Is this located in My Documents> Battlefield 2>Profiles>default or any other folders with numbers? You must find you current nickname do not edit default one. Go to folders with numbers and open file called Profile.con and make sure its the profile you use.
Here is my file so try replacing your own with this one. Make sure game is not running when editing / overwriting files. Extract archive to your profile folder and overwrite existing once. Run the game and see if hangs now.

Same thing missing mouse settings. Extract attached archive in my previous post in 0002 folder. Start the game and load to some server. See if it hangs again.
EDIT: No that looks like the one in Default folder. Like you haven't touched it at all. Can you post contents of your prError.log file which you can find in Battlefield 2>mods>pr folder?

And yea, I havent touched either control files. Like I said, everything works well in BF2. Same for PR outside of the servers.

So same thing happens in both BF2 and PR? After loading to server your mouse wont work right? And you checked that your profiles folder in My Documents>Battlefiled 2 is not set to read only? Running PR as administrator?
If all of the above is correct only thing you can try is to defragment your hard drive and check for malware. Also you can delete complete Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents and run BF2 first as admin to create new profiles configuration files, edit settings, retrieve profiles and then shut down and run PR as admin. Load to server and see what it does this time.
Errors in that log file are common to all of us. Mostly it complains about parsing video.con file and that might have something to do with permissions in Win7. Not much of a problem but to overide it just set you PR shortcut like this

In BF2 normal, everything works just fine. This issue only happens in PR when in a server

This might be a weird Win7 glitch.
On the desktop right click, Screen Resolution > Make text and other items larger or smaller.
If this is set to over 140% DPI it will cause all types of weird problems in DX9 and DX11 games.
Set it to 100% (smaller) (default) , and try PR again.
In Some games it causes a black screen and only the mouse pointeer visible, in other games the screen is visible but the mouse pointer is not. IDK why this happens, but it happens in SWTOR, Shogun2, Mass Effect 2 and a bunch of other games too.

Right click on the folder, select Properties.
Select the Security Tab.
Select your User Profile Group in the list. Give your profile "Allow" access for everything except the top one "Full Control", and the Bottom One, "Special Permissions"
Adminstrator Group should also have "Allow" on the "Full Control" setting
