"All Maps" server
You know what would be cool? If there was a server that just tried to get as many maps as humanly possible on its rotation. I remember we used to have those events that brought back PR map classics, whatever happened to those? but regardless I just want to play new maps (or at least rare maps) ALL THE TIME... like all the Christmas maps, all the past PR maps, all the completed maps I've seen in the community mod forums... etc. Seriously I have like... a 30mb connection and 6 terabytes of hard drive space, if the only reason we don't have more maps in PR is because file size, then here's one guy that doesn't care about file size. GIMME ALL TEH MAPSSS

Im so sick of playing the same maps over and over.
Honestly for me thats what killed Vietnam.
The first week it came out, and every server played he same damn 4 maps like they were reusable condoms or something. Now no server plays Vietnam anymore.
Just get a bunch of maps, and mix it up and let it run.
And If admins do server votes put up more options for less payed maps, for example Asad, Quingling, Ochamanchera, Qwai, Dragon Fly, Black Gold. I havent seen those maps played in a long time.
Also alternate versions of maps once in a while is a good mix up.

In my perfect world, it should in PR Server License, that maplist must include all stable maps with atleast 2 layers of each. So we get diversity wich is more dynamic play and not the same shit over and over again.

People want to play the same shit over an over again, as evident in map votes and map list discussions in respective servers' forums.
Those such as yourselves who want to play obscure, often unplayed maps are a small minority. If you don't think this is the case, go to the forums of TG, H, CIA, HOG, PRTA, NwA etc and suggest that they remove the voting option and have an all-maps rotation.

What is really required is a random map script for servers, that picks the map, gamemode and layer totally at random from the server's maplist (so skirmish etc layers are not included). I use to have such a script many years ago, wasn't that good but wouldn't be very hard to make one (for someone who can code python) if there isn't one about.
But ye, problem is the majority of players want to play the same maps and layers over and over

There is no time in one day to play them all. Round can last up to 4hrs so thats only room for 6 maps there

Quite right. It's almost insulting to the hard work of the mapping team that many maps are almost never played. I'm a casual player, and there are days when I get done at work early, get home, and log on, only to find there are 3 or 4 servers that aren't fully full or almost empty, and they're all playing one of the same for or five maps. I think Arnoldio has the right idea, something should be in the server licence agreement to promote the lesser played maps. If a script could be written such that every second round is a random lesser played map it would be better for mod longevity. No it isn't. If a map is sub-par or just doesn't flow well, it'll be totally barred and played once in a blue moon, i.e Ochamchira. Players shouldn't have to play a map that is 'well made' but doesn't work for gameplay. If the mappers want people to play maps more, improve the maps.It's almost insulting to the hard work of the mapping team that many maps are almost never played.
AD's vote system was put in for a reason, this idea of forced map-playing negates that totally.

I only dislike Ramiel and Qwai, one for being pale and other being outdated and also pale, but i dont change servers...
If you cant choose,its pointless to change servers... so all those fanboys who are blufor only 'merica fuck yeah muttrah only will learn to suck it up and just play.

the problem with maps that aren't played often is that they often aren't very funny. it's that easy. the admins know this and have seen that stuff multiple times, putting on pavlosk bay may seem like a good idea at first but after 30min of sitting on the first flag you start to reconsider.
you say "you aren't playing the map right" or "the players are bad" etc 99/100 the difficult maps aren't as fun.

On the other hand I think I never had no fun round on Yamalia (maybe once when enemy was camping tunnels whole round) and multiple times got spammy round or boring on Muttrah/Jabal, etc. So I don't agree with you, it's up to personal taste. I think there is many factors, people like to be winning and "cool" side, etc. So Ins for many is not fun, etc. I really would like server that put bigger and more open for teamplay maps, for me now the best server that offers variety in gameplay is NEW, except putting Muttrah always as seeding map. QQ

That is a very good point you make. However, I think a map shouldn't be thought of as "done" just like anything else in the game. If it's not working for some reason, it should be updated and brought to the PR standard. You can't forces people to play certain map's as you cant force people to seed a server, so what do you do? you offer a map that will bring people in and has depth too it with a small amount of player's i.e mutrah, asad, basra. Try seeding a server with quinling and see how u'll get on.
At NwA we try to offer what majority want as Kain98 said but saying this 90% of the servers are probably trying to do the same imo, the whole point of having a server is to provide a gaming enviroment for the player's that they enjoy and would come back too.
We have a system at NwA that hold's 5/6 hand picked maps list's that are randomly selected on server restart (24 hrs) so no same list nor map nor alt is played over and over again. We play map's that dont get played offten i.e Iron Eagle, Quinling, Black Gold etc and these "rare" map's as people like to refer to are placed 3/4 in the list so it would hopefully pop up at peak time's and would get played and not kill the server as it would if it comes up say 22.00 gmt.
When you go to a caffe and order a full english you know what your getting and why you want it.

Same shit will happen with Project Normandy sadly, will run for 1 week where all servers will abuse it untill it's boring, then die untill next version or events. Also, servers will be locked with passwords since it's custom contents.

Chuva_RD : You want to remove bugged thing but dont tell how to fill formed void.
