Hi,
I have 64 bit W7 on a Crucial M4 128gb SSD. I have all the latest drivers for my new mobo and everything else.
I just installed PR in the following order:
1.)BF2 Deluxe edition
2.)1.41 patch
3.)1.5 patch
4.)restart pc
5.)install parts 1-3
6.)map pack
7.)vietnam
8.)beta 2 update
9.)anders sound mod 0.4
10.)PR mumble 1.0 beta 4
11.) restart pc
and I see black crates, fobs, etc. in game. coop or deployment, same thing. =(
[SOLVED] Black crates, fobs, etc.

that problem usually occurs with the graphics card if the above solution doesnt help
try reverting graphics card drivers to a previous patch

Daniel and rushn are both correct, but each only gave you half the answer.
Everytime you change your video card drivers, and sometimes when you change resolution, you have to delete the shaders for PR's deployable objects, and allow BF2
R to rebuild the shader cache for those objects.
So,
1. Delete cache folder located Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\
2. Start PR, join a server.
3. When in the Deploying screen where the map loads, you will see a message saying Shaders being Optimized, this can take several minutes.
4. Let the BF2 engine do it's thing rebuilding the cache
5. Game on!

Now PR wont start. Just like the first time.
So, what I did is I opened vanilla BF2 first, close( i think i changed settings) then i closed it.
Then I opened PR and it worked, but with black crates, fobs and etc.

What video card and video driver version are you working with?
Delete the contents of My Documents/Battlefield 2/Cache and My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/cache
Next time you load a map in PR it will optimise shaders, which should fix the problem.

re: [SOLVED] Black crates, fobs, etc.
Fixed it.
I ran vanilla BF2 first, all the way to login screen then quit.
It created BF2 folder again in documents.
Then I ran PR. At first, i had an error saying run PR.exe instead of BF2.exe or something like that.
Restarted PR and it worked.
Set up my settings.
Played a quick coop server, and there were a couple of odd things.
So, I restarted again.
This time everything looked normal.
BTW, I have a gtx460 and using latest driver non beta.
