New to this.

Post by Ryzz »

All right there guys , i used to play bf2 back in the day and came across PR on youtube sometime last week , so I'm just in the process of D/L it the just now.

Few questions.

Is there a lot of UK players ? , Reason is I'm from Glasgow and have a pretty thick accent so i can be hard to understand at times if people aren't use to it.

How do the big teams games/Skirmish work and how do i get involved in them ?

Is there a lot of interest in the competitive side or is it just casual ? i come from the CS:S/Cod4 neck of the woods so i would be interested in getting involved in some competitive games.

If anyone can answer some of the above that would be cracking.

Yes, many servers are populated during the UK peak times and you should have no issue joining one. Also there are tonnes of English second-language players so you'll be right :)

All servers have a 64p cap (32v32) and only one server, Sisu, goes over that cap at 64v64. It is occasionally opened on weekends and you must have Mumble installed in order to play. I stress that you get Mumble before even playing the game.

There is a pretty decent competetive scene. Many clans do 20v20 (or more) battles. There is also the TART.

Any more questions ask them here.

P.S read this thread.

I've just installed mumble there and yeh I should have had a quick scan at the Thread first sorry about that.

Thanks for answering though , seems like a good community , looking forward in getting more involved.

No problem, its fine to create a thread and say hello :D
We are happy about every single player joining our community.

All I can say is have fun and enjoy your time. And even if you experience a bad round there is always one after that you will remember for a loong time.

Cheers

There is no competetive scene. At all. All clanmatches are "casual" as well. Although you might mean something more mild than I do with competetive but the game is way too random to have a competetive scene. Comparing to CS:S or CoD4 there's non.

It's a fun game where teamwork is the main aspect, but it's not serious :D

1. Welcome to this awesome game :)
2. You cant compare this game to Cod4 or CS. Cod4 and CS are small games, which also require a little bit of teamwork, but not as much as this game does. To win a CS or COD 4 game you just need the skills. In PR you need the Communication, Tactics, discipline to follow orders, skills, EXPERIENCE and much more. You will hardly find any 14 year old kiddies, because most of them stop playing after a month (thank god).
3. There are a lot of UK players
4. You will hardly find a community like this. (when u know the dota community, then this is the opposite
5. Last but not least have fun playing this game, get ready for teamplay you have never seen before in any game and pls read the manual :)

Ryzz you could check out the tar tournament, the CORD team needs some members! It's about as competitive as it gets!

TART - Teamwork and Reality Tournament
