Just get an experienced driver and tell him that you are new and ready to learn.StgPinco wrote:im playng PR for a year and after paying inf i went for apc but my first games were a disaster, so any tips for be a arerage gunner/driver and not exploding at the first contact with the enemy?

Driver: Always maintain situational awareness on the condition of the terrain, and always be planning about what there you can use to your advantage. Always be scanning for contacts. Be ready to take orders from your gunner, he has a better view than you. Be ready to say no to your gunner, he has a better view but he can still be wrong. When stopping for any period of time, find a divot where you can get a hull down position which protects the body of the vehicle exposing only the turret.
Gunner: Always be scanning for contacts. Always be aware of terrain and be ready to command your driver into a position of cover, route of retreat or advance.
Both: Work in packs, vehicles work best supporting each other. Listen to your gut, if you've got a bad feeling about rounding that corner say something. JUDGE YOUR TERRAIN, AVOID TIGHT SPACES! communication is key.

Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

Driver is the boss. He decides where to go and what to shoot.

The driver will make or break any armored asset, he needs to have very high situational awareness and has to be able to predict where the enemy will pop up. The gunner will often focus on killing stuff so the driver has to keep him on a tight leash, a lot of times it's better to let smaller targets pass (inf/light vehicles) so you don't give your position away to bigger threats (other tanks/apcs). The element of surprised will win or lose the vast majority of fights in armor, so be a patient hunter and don't let them sneak up on you.
You can hear a lot further then you can see, use that knowledge as often as possible.

Biggest threat for Armour tends to be the HAT, as you can usually spot/hear the other Armour assets. The driver and the gunner should be always scanning in opposite directions (especially on INS maps).
Work with your infantry. Most times Armour assets move off on their own and don't usually support the infantry, Kashan being a prime example. If your in an APC transport troops and use your firepower to back them up.
I'd also say practice on a Co-op server to get experience at firing at targets at different ranges. Nothing worst than have a gunner who's unable to hit the target.

Train on hitting moving targets such as tanks, helis, trucks etc. and never hit front armor of enemy armored vehicle unless there is no other place to hit.

I still miss one thing not said before here. Kill the engine once in a while. Get out of the driver seat and looks around, that way you get a different eye on things and you can use you ears for possible armored contacts.
