PR Mumble v1.0 always unlinked

Post by Ramzey125 »

Whenever i start playing on a server, it doesn't matter what squad i'm in or where am I on the map, I can hear everyone. It seems i'm un-linked at all times even after i run it on administrator and before i run Project Reality. I've tried re-installing multiple times but that hasn't worked. Any suggestions?

does not fit in the bug section but okay. Are you starting PR also with admin rights?

I'm using Windows 7 and I have used the compatibility mode, but I don't know which OS to make it compatible too.

Which version of PR Mumble do you use? Do you run PR Mumble before you start PR?

Read trough this please.

im using PR:Mumble 1.0.0 PR Client and i run as admin before starting PR

EDIT: I didn't even change any settings or anything, it just all of sudden one day stopped working and wouldn't link correctly. It would say "Battlefield 2 linked" in mumble but then it says "You were unsuppressed" when i join a server

I have no idea how to fix this and I've tried many many many methods, and have read the guide and I have no idea how to fix this, I cleared the registry and completely re-installed mumble.. that didn't work. I changed the compatibility mode and everything, that didn't work. I don't get why mumble would all of sudden not work and why nothing is working to fix it..

Uninstall PR mumble trough control panel and do this
[R-COM]MaSSive wrote:Press Win + R and type "%appdata%" in it (without quotes) and press enter. It should open YourUsername>AppData>Roaming

Then you can delete complete mumble folder after you uninstall mumble first. Reinstall and it should work. I think mumble uses sqlite database to keep data so editing it and tweaking is not a good idea.

I did this and it didn't work. However, when I opened mumble, it automatically had my name put in, all my shortcuts and audio settings were the same too (changed to default and the settings from the guide and neither fixed it). I have no idea how to fix this, unless that means mumble for some reason didn't completely uninstall even though I followed your instructions

No you didn't. The quoted part in my post above is important. If you skip it and dont do it right exactly what you explained here will happen. So either do it properly or we cant help you.

Yourname>Appdata>Roaming> find Mumble folder there and delete it. Or just delete "PR_mumble.sqlite" file. That file keeps all settings of PR mumble and if its not removed all will be back when you reinstall. If in any case that folder/file is not there then something is terribly wrong or you got set custom appdata folder. If thats the case let us know how you changed it and what you set there.

1. I uninstall PR Mumble v1.0.0 from control panel
2. I press Win + R and type in %appdata% it moves me to a folder called Users/(MyName)/AppData/Roaming
3. I see "Mumble" folder and delete it which moves it to the recycle bin (I also tried just deleting the PR_mumble.sqlite file by itself but it didn't work)
4. I then go to recycle bin to delete it
5. I then reinstall PR:Mumble v1.0 Beta 4
6. I start mumble as administrator and automatically has all my settings still

I don't know if I'm retarded (and if I am i'm sorry for annoying the hell out of you) but I don't know what the hell i'm doing wrong. It still has the settings after doing all these. Is it something to do with me having to move the recycle bin (I honestly have no idea)?

Lol I'm confused. It should keep all the settings in that file so once you delete it it should be gone. All that data should not be in registry. DO you have any other mumble installed? Cause if you say no I have no idea how that happens and only pr mumble dev can answer that. And good luck with that one.

I have no mumble versions installed at all. I've even searched for any file or folder called mumble in regedit as well as in my windows, and deleted all of them. That still did not work, but thanks for the help anyway.
