Loading while alt+tabbed
When im loading a level in PR sometimes i have the urge to alt+tab and check facebook or whatever to kill time.
On windows xp (64) it used to sometimes load when i alt tab but now it never does. Sometimes I would let the bar load past animations and then it would finish it between the time i alt+tab and I come back into the game.
So does anyone have any ideas or solutions to get it to always load when i hit alt tab either at the beginning of the level load, or during it?
Does this bug anyone else?
Also now im running win 7 64. And I was going to put this in the support section but i think this might deserve a conversation.

Blame windows, guys. It's not uncommon for a game to pause itself (so to speak) when you alt tab out of it.

Exactly as realistic as playing fullscreen, as long as the resolution is the same.Daniel wrote:"play in window"Well, what a realiiiistic gaming experience you get then... xD

Re: Loading while alt+tabbed
U mean it is possible to play in window without seeing any border of the window? o_O

Re: Loading while alt+tabbed
Note - This only works if you're playing at the full resolution of your monitor.
I started looking for a tool like this when I had problems a while ago playing Mafia 2 fullscreen. It basically jumped and jerked.....stuttering all over the place (Even though I had an i5 2500k and HD 5870 at the time). I tried it windowed and it was smooth as silk??
Problem was, I was left with borders and hated seeing even so much as a little bit of the top title bar whilst I was gaming. I also had to keep manually dragging it into place.
"Shift Window" is a nifty little tool which enables you to get rid of those borders/title bar and automatically centers it, effectively giving the same effect as playing it fullscreen.
I'm also aware of other games that have caused people issues whilst playing fullscreen, only to be perfectly fine once windowed. Hopefully this tool will help alot of you out there with some problem games.

"When you download and install shift window, you get a program box that looks like this -

When you start your game of choice (League of Legends in this example) you need to make sure the game is set to windowed mode, and that it's at your monitors native resolution. If you do that, your game window will have the bar at the top, and by using shift window we can get rid of it.
What you do is AFTER you have started your game, you load up shift window, and you hit the "Grab" button by window title. That'll open a little menu, and you select the "League of Legends (TM) Client" whatever game it is you are playing.

After that you hit the "trigger it" button and you should be all set!"
Here's the link - ShiftWindow
Here's one for ya. Just download the program.Install it,run your game and while the game is running start the program, select the game title from windows title and click trigger it.You'll lose the borders but the bottom menu still remains.

Not a big deal, if its the same with ya, just restart the game in fullscreen mode and clear your shader cache.saXoni wrote:That doesn't sound too good.

Re: Loading while alt+tabbed
use coordinates -4 and -4 and add 8 to 10 pixels to the screensize to make it really fullscreen and have less borders
the tool doesnt change anything gfx wize, you would have had missing ground textures because of playing in window mode , even without using the tool.

Re: Loading while alt+tabbed
i get missing ground testures when testing in windowed. I think its because the Res gets squashed laterally.

Re: Loading while alt+tabbed
did you remove shader cache ? and you should use a command line to make sure your res is still the same as your full screen res
"C:\games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 0 +restart +highpriority +playerName xxx +playerPassword xxx +szx 1920 +szy 1080

I was able to fix that missing texture thing with upgrading my nvidia video drivers. Not sure if it helps 100% but that did the trick for me.
