As for me, I think I realised that PR was facing hard times when C10 got cancelled. Getting some form of tournament going, even if it was just an official clan leauge would boost some of the flagging servers midweek I think.

But all in all, the Dev team do the best with what they have, and I think we're lucky to have them. Thanks for the mod.

I get upset round here sometimes.

We have so much content that is rarely used because of silly reasons.

1. PRV - Over played at the beginning many people CBA or don't understand the need to DL Beta2 so hardly seen. But IMHO great fun to play
2. PRN - Yes of course with only one map its not something you want to play regularly but it's worth someone organising an event night once in a while?
3. PRF - This is zooming along but can Rhino find anyone to help with some of the vital tasks (thinking Arg player skins)....No
4. Harder Maps rarely seen Shijia/Black Gold/Iron Eagle ..... as many players CBA to play slowly with patience these maps don't have the population they need (64 + IMHO Bloody).

Shit we can all help in our little ways

1. Direct help modelling, texturing etc etc
2. Organising events to use less seen maps in a good teamwork environment with our clan or community
3. Donating - makes me sick that 100's of players are using mumble and one poor sod is paying for our fun.

Now I'm to old and stupid to learn modding, but I try to keep the game interesting with PRTA by organising clan battles, Event nights (PRV soon), SLing with unknown pubbies and a little donation every now and again.

Spiked rye - Wicca has been organising a Clan league, and a tournament (TART) hey guess what - not a lot of interest - go join or help him out. I'd rather the DEV's deved than organised stuff like that

We need to integrate the player flow from east europe and Russia a bit better - a foreign language section here perhaps?

Well, I wasn't aware of the clan leauge or TART, so I retract that statement. But I deffinatley agree that a foreign language section would be a very good idea.

Good that this has been brought up and even better that the DEVs answered.

Myself I've played PR since 2008, more or less actively and I'm very familiar with the fact that no release dates are given before the new version is ready. I don't think we need accurate release dates, but something to keep the community satisfied. For example, if the team says 1.0 will be released in Q4/2012, the fans have something to look forward to and the hype will stay alive, and yet the Q4/2012 would be flexible enough for the team.

Really surprised by the dev's honesty here, a shame some people had to be cut loose, but if the new model is more streamlined in the long run then good job for making the decision

The reason I've stopped playing regularly is mainly because when something gets released all the servers are full so you can't get a game, and when the hype dies down it's all empty again since the latest additions aren't mandatory. A proper patch would go a long way to fixing this, as guys have already said.

Guys, i remember there being a thread like this a good while back that was given some real feedback from both sides. it doesnt take a lot of brains to figure out that the devs have a broad outline project, they all individually work on their own stuff until its done and when that workload is finished, they sit back and say, "is that about finished then yea?" and a few of them will shout "YEA!!" and rhino will shout "well maybe a little more", and then they release it and rhino doesnt get the satisfaction he hoped he would get and has a cry wank in the shower.

im gonna get in trouble for that one i think.

Anyway yea, there is no conspiracy, theres no timeframe like a disney pixar project (edit: actually there is a big project list), nothing is set in stone, and everybody works in their own little vaccum, with only the feint option of outside critisism, some of the devs choose to ignore critisism, thats cool. some of them get very frustrated because one of the main reasons they work on pr is to feel appresiated, thats cool too. But all the while the community mod section has been thinning out, people havent been connecting the dots.

The players, have an impact on this game. Personally i think the suggestion forum was a good thing before it was moderated, it gave players a feeling of security like they could vent their expressions for the game. But more importantly, more players have to start doing some tutorials, get into the editor. Want a list of devs the devs need?

Simple.

If you think the game is too buggy, apply for the testing team.

If you want new content and patches, go to the community modding section, look for tasks you can be doing, learn to model or code, and do some work to help out the team.

If anything, there is a noticeable decline primarily because many of the devs who have been working on the game for years are getting older and moving on (rightfully so) and there aren't many people from the community moving up to fill the ranks.

I can assure you there are a number of people working hard and doing their parts to get the next patch out (myself included), and when it comes out there will be a healthy resurgence in the game, as there always is ( especially considering some of the stuff we're working on ).

You must understand that we say "it will be done when its done" because we don't want to release until we have something complete. The less we abide by that, the buggier the release. The less people we have, the longer it takes.
