I really miss Yamalia, Iron Ridge AAS and Silent Eagle! Has been far too long since last time I played these wonderful maps ;.(
Opinions are like ******** - we all got 'em and they all stink!

Shijia Valley (AAS) If it would stop crashing mid round.
Quinling to many trees makes alot of players lag.
Marlin AAS now there is a map that is almost as good as Muttra.

The last three times I've played it didn't crash, nor lag.*NwA*Orford wrote:Shijia Valley (AAS) If it would stop crashing mid round.

Re: Favorite Map that never gets played?
Some of the maps mentioned here are actually played decently often on the CIA server (yamalia and silent eagle especially). It might just be that some maps are more popular with certain servers player base.
I to miss Wanda Shan, it was a great asset map and played out unlike any other. I think the issue was that a lot of infantry guys disliked the forest fighting combined with the difficulties of logistics on the map, but I felt it was a nice change of challenge. Instead of having to rely on one squad building a FOB or two you actually had to setup a network of spawns in order to stay on top of all the flags switching hands so often.
As for maps that are part of the mod I feel Qinling is the most underplayed and underrated map in the mod. Sure it can be tough for infantry to advance but defending is fairly easy with TOWs/AA, not to mention there are a million nice spots for FOBs.

It's just things I've picked up on why they don't get played much. May be its time to have a AAS weekend with some lesser played maps and PR vets to show the pubbers and ney Sayers how rewarding they can be, instead of alt-F4 as soon as they start to load. These maps do lead to a mass population drop as soon as the server loads them.
With a solid push we can get them popular.

I love to play Korengal, but it's often getting voted away because of the sometimes irritating or releiving map votes. Other maps like Wanda Shan or Shija Valley are often CTD heavy or fake CTD heavy because of the difficulty. And the one with IDF vs MEC what is it called again? I miss that one!

Iron Eagle, IIRC. Love the terrain on that map.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:I love to play Korengal, but it's often getting voted away because of the sometimes irritating or releiving map votes.
