I stopped thinking of people defending as 'camping noobs' a long, long time ago. Unfortunately defending is a lot easier than attacking, thus people get frustrated when they're losing against the defending team.

Attacking isn't that harder though, when using terrain, weapons and movements to your advantage you often end in a 50/50 chance.

Defending is a lot harder than attacking for it requires a lot more discipline and patience

I have seen so many rounds, where a team lost, because nobody wanted to defend but instead rush into teh action and derp and die there.

But you're right, defending is essential.
One of our Squads once just started doing maths while defending the Kozelsk Bunker because they did not have any contacts for like an hour or so. ([QRF] Clan - Defending without enemies PR 0.973 - YouTube)
