Reviving the kit usually works for me, if the body has moved after the player has been shot.

The only problem with moving bodies is when you can't keep up with them, and they slide away whilst you're trying to stab them - and sometimes you fall off the hill after them.

^the sliding bodies can be a problem. In which case try moving the kit, pushing the body further down the hill or even getting someone else to drop a patch so you can revive immediately afterwards.

Also if you can communicate with the guy you're reviving, have him tell you where you are from his perspective. When he can see your epipen, you can revive him in the position where his "eyes" are. This works always.
