I play PR for the realistic immersion and tactical gameplay!

And, like above, digging... and funny shenanigans and players.
And Insurgents.

I like working with people and cooperating to achieve a common goal. It's like a competitive sport. I don't lean on the "milsim" aspect because even though the game is fairly realistic, a lot of the physics of the weapons etc are the same, and some real-world tactics apply (spread out, cover 360 degrees even though almost nobody does that, balance out your kits, etc)...it's not the same and that's a good thing. Nobody wants to see a firefight. It sucks. I just enjoy the team atmosphere.

If you want real milsim but don't want to enlist, you need to spread all of your trash across the yard (preferably a 10-acre yard at least), remove all clouds and shady areas, and have 50 people who don't like each other walk in a line and pick up all the trash. That night, drink A LOT and get a tattoo or finance a car with a 50% interest rate. After doing this for a few years, go to war, and stop calling Engineers and Medics "Infantry" because they are not, but I'd never call an actual combat medic a POG. When you try to cap the mosque on whatever map, have CNN show up and broadcast how it is technically a war crime to attack a religious building, so then the liberals in Congress will screw over everyone with their lack of funding for necessary things like pay, weapons, body armor, housing, food, healthcare, etc. In my case my then-fiancee left me for a crackhead twice her age, but your mileage may vary.

No game produces the rush that PR has been able to these days, nor do they compare in intensity.

Nobody wants to see a firefight? Dafuq.

Because I think it's fun. As simple as that.

I've played many games, but no other game but PR has entertained me more than one month.

I play for the moments of boredom interupted by sheer terror like an RPG whizzing by my head, or the crack of a near hit of a snipers shot. The getting into firefights with complete strangers. And of course the community and the kokan and hookers. Mostly the kokan. :)

teamwork, serious players, and a realism level that works for a game. I don't touch Arma2 because though it is "more realistic" in the amount of things you have to do, it simply becomes far too cumbersome to play. PR is nearest the sweet spot between realism and playability. In some ways this makes it feel more realistic for me.

and just as SyntheticCoyote said, it's all about that short moment of shear terror. those jems which knock you off your feet.

So I can play a game without all political BS.

I want to play as insurgents; PR has insurgents, not censored by mass media pressure.
Join Insurgency for some Jihad fun times yelling "Allah Akbar" in mumble while blowing up IED/bombcar/gary...etc.

I want to play as RusFed, sure thing.
Yell "Urrah" in mumble and raep people in CQB with full-auto. And measure strength of belief in motherland with accuracy of Tandem warhead RPG at distance...

I play as my favorite PLA, no problem.
Say "来一发吧,少年" then shoot HAT at enemy infantry/tanks/whatever.

I get thrown onto bad guy team like USarmy or Germans; sure I can still have fun.
Jump into APC and suicide-rush cache with C4 while whispering "trololololo" song.
------------
Until Planteside 2 comes out(but not if it plays like call of dooty).

Place explosives near bridge > wait for Armor convoy to cross bridge > Blow bridge > APC falls through > RPG > !?!?!?!? PROFIT.
