AT missle visibility

I was just wondering how visible you actually plan on making the missles. Hopefully not too much for the newer signatureless missles, with maybe a nasty smoke trail for older weapons. I think I read of Israeli tank crews coming back to their bases with multiple AT missle wires drapped over their tanks. This was mainly due to them spotting the missle and taking evasive action. Nowadays that isn't really as big as a problem. That leads to the question of whether or not the more modern armor will have laser detection to deal with AT missle threats.
