Mabuhay ka PR! (long live PR!)

Post by kanonator »

Hello community! I don't use the forums often, so I'm not sure where this post belongs (peace).

Hi! Let me introduce myself first. My friend, gamapg, and I are your not-so-brown brothers from the Islands of the Philippines. We fight with a "clan" tag: "(PUTA)" just for kicks. We've been playing this wonderful game since 2009, and will continue to play until the very last server shuts down. We frequent the CIA and =H= servers every weekend, mostly because they're the only servers where our ping is low enough so players don't levitate (god has blessed your soul if you don't know what I'm talking about).

So the reason that I'm posting is that I just wanted to share how much we love this game; everything about it is awesome, from the dedicated devs to the loving players. We took a break for about two months because our ISPs' sh*t-service shot lag spikes from hell up our PR-deprived asses. Now that the issue has been resolved, we wanted to come back with a bang and decided to play a 12-hour PR marathon last Sunday night on the CIA server. Sadly we gave up at hour 11, but the journey was a blast nevertheless! Many-many-many thanks to the DEVS I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Many-many-many thanks to EVERYONE that has played with us EVER, so many memories and good times because of you guys. Finally, from the Philippines with love "Mabuhay ka PR! Mabuhay kayong lahat!"

Don't hesitate to try some of the servers with a higher ping. Remember that BF2 is balanced at a ping at 100. You can easily play PR on a server with a ping on 150.

We roll with an average ping of about 250 (on CIA). Everything else is 350 above. Only hardcore for us

i will fight to the last man comrade, but I dont expect PR to be around in 100 years. That is the files will exist somewhere, but there wont be much of a community.

I'm in California and only play on the PRTA: EU server w/ ~180 ping and I do just fine w/ that.

This (positive) thread needs more replies, now!
Just look how all the whiny ones get 30+ pages in no time...
even though everything in there has been said sooo many times already.

Actually even with 200-250 ping this game still shines

Because on average, we get pretty good K/DRs (individual and squad)... but that isn't actually the point

We're roll in with our ping and still kick *** in this kick *** game because this actually shows how tactical and less of the jerk-click that categorizes most of the FPS nowadays whereby players in PR actually have to use their brain (intuition, psychology, general tactics and positioning, communication skills) under such pressure that 200milliseconds of reaction time coincides with the thought process that we humans take when faced with making such decisions (huhu don't ask me for source, all I know is wthat we think helluva fast haha)

So point being, this is such a great game.

I've seen you PUTAs before. Fun times around you all. Most of the time I just run on CIA, which I usually have a ping of 30ish, give or take 15.

200mS is an high value of time, it's not about how fast you think but how far the server is from you.
Au dela du possible ...
