i love mumble enforcement. that's why i prefer cia to any other server. and report those that dont use it. and i didnt use to mind if they had mumble but didnt speak for whatever reason...but i kick those guys out of my sqd now....it makes Sqd leading harder and more stressful for me when i have players that dont speak and plus i like to bullshit and talk shit to my sqd or i guess u could call it good old fashion motivation in military language...we have a good time....i usually get a good following of sqd members from map to map on cia's server.

Same here. Jesus christ people. If the majority does not LIKE mumble it's simply because the majority has not tried it/is not smart enough to use it properly/are unlucky because the peeps on their server don't use it.

That is pretty much it.

Still - the best system is - SQD VOIP for "general" stuff, such as "everyone move there" or "AR you can move up". Commander VOIP for Commander. Everything else should be done on mumble. CENTERED voices should only be OTHER SQUAD LEADERS talking to you.

So many times I have shouted at my squad for yaking over mumble SQD "radio" and making me miss most of what other SLs had to say to me. The worst thing is if they think theyre so important and talk over SQD "radio" even when they are really close to eachother... Morons. Gets me mad every time and completely defeats the purpose of mumble.

Have fun as your player base continually shrinks in that case. Not everyone has the option to use mumble or voice chat for certain reasons and you're most likely shooting yourselves in the foot, not to mention looking extremely silly and elitist in the process.

I wasn't judging the entire community, but if most of the players are like this, I definitely don't want to be a part of it.

And we don't want you to be part of our community. No, seriously, we don't want another herp-derp "mandatory mumble sucks" person/thread/thought that isn't really based on argument, but rather, I don't know... maybe personal hatred for the software or tactical minded people? I wont go through the positive aspects of Mumble again, just use forum search if you want to continue this discussion. We have gone through that s*** many, many times, to come to what - another whiny guy/thread/thought threatning the good old community that they're gonna die and telling them that they're elitists. You must be new to internetz/PR/forums or really stupid; I've seen so much threads about how to use or fix mumble and so many people that are interested in helping, that I don't even have any words to express how people like you make me fell. Yes I care!

If you're not using comms with your squad it doesn't matter what you individually pull out. You can even win the game for the team but that doesn't define teamwork. The experience of working together by using comms and collectively maneuvering in-game is far more fulfilling than a great KDR that you can pull on your own. If the latter was PR's concept, then it would be far more simple to play FPS like COD.

Just download Mumble and try it again under our perspective - just for a tiny bit - and you will understand why a few servers enforce it.

^ this.

Who don't like mumble is just a small kid that came from arcade games such as CoD or Battlefield.

PR requires teamwork and mumble is a teamwork piece, imagine a situation:

With Mumble

1 - You can talk to other squad leaders and make more coordinated assaults (see the [R-DEV]Dbzao videos, the channel is "muitocomplicado") .
2 - You can hear the enemy talking, which means, if you squad dies and you survive, you have much more chances to survive while the squad is coming back.

Without Mumble

1 - You'll have to write on the HUD which will take time and you have chances to die if in mid combat.
2 - You'll have limited intel, the only ones that will be able to give intel more accurately will be the commander and the squad members, other squads will have to write, you will have to read, more time taken, you have more chances to die.
3 - Less teamwork, as everybody is using mumble and there you is, without mumble, alone, sad...

Unncessary comments such as those above about such people don't help. You can call the community elitist/dying, but it's been similar to this for years & still going. Everything shrinks (Que thought process.) Every community, then they grow, the economy even grows & shrinks on a daily basis, same with the DOW, etc. That's life. We'll be here, if you don't like mumble join a non mumble server. Mumble is enforced due to how it encourages people to work together more, KDR isn't really important in PR.

Why is Mumble bad is like asking a Christian to prove that there is God.

We wont get a straight answer and we know what kind of people they are.

Considering it's the same few people posting in this thread, you might be trolls as far as I can tell.

What? I read one of your's post arguing why you don't use mumble:
Derpp wrote:A few minutes after the third save I get kicked because HERP DERP U NO USE MUMBLE. Fucking stupid. I can't enjoy the game because I don't want to listen to his whiny voice apparently.

Ohh, as you don't want hear his voice? Stop playing PR...

PR is a game that you will need to hear the squad leader, no matter if his voice is strange.

People explained the reasons/benefits of using that tool more than once to you.
If you tried it and you are still not convinced than that is very bad as there is no other way to open your eyes.

But anyway, it doesn't really matter. By far, the biggest part of the community seems to like/use mumble and also expect the next guy to have/use it.
For better gameplay, better immersion and less retardation...

And therefore a non-mumbler will ruin other peoples experience!

If YOU (and the "other 5 guys") are not open to a small gadget that helps EVERYONE to have a better gaming experience and obviously, after that post...believe me, YOU are!

- Some people cannot run Mumble for technical reasons: Human or Computer Error.

- Some people choose not to use it because they hate the "spam": Human or Computer error.

- Some people choose not to use it because people's voices are annoying: we don't blame you, but it is still not a valid excuse and you can mute individial players; Human or Computer error.

- The majority of the community here, and I believe the Developer team as well, find that PRMumble is a part of the game like any other file in PR, and must be used as such in order to play the game the way it was meant to be played.

- If you ***** about using mumble, and the complaint isn't about technical reasons you have tried desperately to fix, you are bitching about PR. Therefore, you should not play this game.

So it's basically "use mumble or fuck off"? I can't use mumble, or any other voice chat because I'm missing most of my tongue due to an accident which makes it difficult to speak coherently. Pretty much the only populated US server I've noticed (during the times I'm on) enforces that rule, so I guess you're right, this game isn't for me.

Right, so now you're missing most of your tongue. I advise you to go and ***** about some other stuff in different forums - there you will get the reactions you're craving for and maybe your trolling attempts would bring you success and happiness afterall. Or are you the lesser tier troll that just craves any kind of attention? Than you can continue here (but beware, you'll get banned soon enough).
One more thing. People who can't speak well usually learn to listen. But you definitely don't sound like a person who has learned to listen (in this case - read what others are writing). And, IMO, people with speech problems wouldn't be as biased (I'm pointing at the line where you said "his whiny voice").

I know I'm feeding a troll, but why not? I don't have anything particularly interesting to do right now.
EDIT: Thought about my last sentence for a second. Maybe going to sleep is a better idea. Indeed it is.

You don't necessarily need a mic, but you do need to be able to hear people if you intend to play PR & most people talk on mumble.

I think all the intelligent arguments for and against have been made and what's left is just noise.

Closing thread now before people say stupider things.
