PR in Windowed Mode

Post by Hiyy »

I resently lost a good friend and fellow PR player (508th Dino). I am trying to setup a PR Live stream in his memory with a bunch of his friends, but I need to get PR into windowed mode for sake of ease with the live stream. Does anyone have a solution? I have tryed almost every 3D ripping program, tryed "-windoed" in the target line, and making a commandline notepad file in the install location. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Try:

+fullscreen 0

If you want, you can extend that by passing the desired windowed resolution:

+szx 1280 +szy 720

...though this step isn't required, if you change the resolution through the video-options screen. By passing the resolution, you don't have to change anything in the video-options screen.

It may take multiple tries to get this livestream to work, when I try and record in game stuff at all in windowed mode, it often breaks my shaders in such a way that the ground disappears.

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Code: Select all

"D:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720
Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work.

I need to run in windowed mode as well because of a ctd at start.
"D:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720
Would i put the above into the target location or the start in location?

Edit: I have steam version, will i have to do something differently?
Here is what my target location read as now: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720

That's the target.

The start location should be:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2"

Did you wrap more quotes around it? This should really be it:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720
Copy this entire line and paste it in your target box.

That worked! Thanks to everyone for the input!
