How to give project reality more ram

Post by gingerjordan97 »

I am getting lag when playing project reality it is now impossible to play the game and I was wondering is there a way to give the game more ram. Or if anyone has any other ways of reducing lag it would be very helpful
Thanks

Windows 7 64bit
Intel core 2 duo
Nvidia GeForce 9600m Gs 512mb

How much RAM do you have in your PC?

if you are using 64-bit windows the limit is waaay higher than 3.75 usable.

WIN7 home premium maximum ram 16GB
anything higher, pro, enterprise, ultimate is 192GB

If you are using 32bit windows then you probably need to reinstall to 64 bit. I was using 32bit WIN7 and PR would often max out the ram.

I don't know if this is the cause of your lag, but I noticed ALOT of gameplay improvements when I migrated to 64-bit

So you are not limited to 4GB of ram.
I would recommend adding more RAM, or replacing sticks of RAM with bigger ones if you don't have any open slots.

How can you be so sure it is your RAM? Maybe one 1 GB RAM-slot broke now or what... ? (check it)

If it's your RAM, try GameBooster and check which programs are running, using much RAM AAAAND using much of your "Intel core 2 duo" power (which core 2 duo exactly? I have the E 6300 (2x 1.86 GHz) one in my older PC (have a good new one for some time now), ran PR pretty well...).

On your "Nvidia GeForce 9600m Gs 512mb", I have a (Palit) 9600 GT (aswell 512 MB) in that same older PC (mentioned before, including that Intel E 6300), that made problems a bit I guess, I could not/can't play huuuuge maps on high texture settings, those I set to middle/low as well as some other setting (was it anti-aliasing?).

Good luck finding out if RAM is broken (ChkDsk) or what program is using lot RAM or if even GameBooster is even enough already to fix it or maybe your 9600 is finished serving now... who knows?
