Bad players are easy to kill because they expose themselves completely. I remember well myself from when I started playing. They'll walk on the highest point of the hill, not hiding behind the ridgeline. They'll stop to fire in the middle of a street, not hugging a wall. They use their sprint whenever they feel like it, so they get caught with an empty sprint bar in the middle of an open field. In a nutshell, bad (or new) players die a lot because they understand nothing about the use of cover and not silhouetting yourself.

Seems like the topic got derailed so bad people have left it for dead. Went from HMMWVs to binocs to bad players to air assets now.

I think it just ran its course. I don't believe, unlike most moderators, that there's anything wrong with a topic deviating from the original topic since in real life that how all our conversations work too.

Its an extrapolation and full exploration of the idea and where it takes us. I think it was an enjoyable conversation. If we stuck to the topic it probably would have died on page 3 because really... how far can you go with "yea people are stupid and vehicle formations don't work"?

Who liked the convoy we had today on CIA Kokan and Hookers?

But sadly afterwards it failed cause I kept getting disconnected as the Commander :(

Still got one cache with the convoy!

Snipers shouldn't wander off by themselves.. That's called lone wolfing and no squad leader will appreciate some guy hoping in his squad just so he can grab a sniper kit and be l33t. Its more efficient to work with others. Your only going to kill maybe 3 or 4 guys before someone gets you, and then your sitting at base waiting for someone to let you take their sniper kit for the rest of the game.
I vote this thread be closed.

Not strictly true. Only bad snipers get killed that way. The sniper kit by its very design does not lend itself to being in a squad, thats why there's a marksman kit. Snipers have long range scopes and rifles that fire in bolt action because they don't fire much and get many kills to begin with.

Snipers can be effective in both the stalking around for intel role and the ticket attrition role. Given the current features in PR a sniper doesn't need a kill to do the enemy damage. Wounding a soldier that later gets revived is in fact exactly as effective as a sniper was before the wound/ticket feature came into play so really kills is rather meaningless to the overall effectiveness of the sniper.

Lonewolfing itself is not strictly bad, just tends to be the choice of bad team players. Plenty of people are effective lonewolfing. Besides, find me an SL who wants a sniper in his squad and I'll almost guarantee you he's not very good.

I vote you not vote for a thread to be closed right after you give your point of view. Rather fascist of you, neh?

Me. Snipers in normal squads can deal a hell of a punch and be a damn good asset on the right maps. OFC I wouldn't want a sniper in my squad on a map like Muttrah where it's mainly CQB but on Yamlia, Qinling, etc. you can wreck havoc when you can organize directly with one in your squad.

Sniper is badass if he is sticking with squad. All Marksman or AR threats eliminated ;)

Yeah Snipers are bad-*** especially when playing INS and they stick with the squad. They can kill sappers, rpg guys, ambushers and civilians who are violating the rules. It is also useful to kill insurgents whom are hiding behind civilians. When I go EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) so better said clearing minefields, IED ambushes and other things that have to do with explosives I always take a sniper with me for observing and killing sappers. But the fact that most people go lonewolf 1337 instead of a supportive role by collecting intel and long-range fire support. Nonetheless, if you have a good .50 ca gunner in your humvee you can do the same.

That's why we need 100 player servers ASAP!

Having played 100p servers, 64p servers are no more fun.
