I don't think there has been much investigation in this area, the only thing I'd really want to change is that crazy stretching stuff :P

it does frustrate a bit when people's upper body flies around wildly after a headshot, if possible i would like a more "heavy" feel to the models when in "ragdoll" mode

Actually that's the most incorrect statement you could have made - as far as anyone can tell 100 ping is the only ping it was designed to work at (even at this ping it isn't flash).

Let's not deviate into the direction of a hitpoint / accuracy discussion.

I agree with the general idea of this suggestion. If weight can be modified without bad side effects, this would be a very good (cosmetic, but not unimportant) change.

I know Rudd is in Kenya, but maybe another member can answer this question.

Hasn't there been quite alot of research and testing on the possibility of dragging dead - wounded players into cover?

There we have our first side effect of heavier bodies. Harder to do CPR. Maybe that's why we have light ragdolls?

And how about the ragdolls that can go through the moving vehicles when inside of them? like ghosts? can this be fixed?

How deep did you dig for this thread?
Bugs with ragdolls are most likely something that cannot be fixed. The behavior can and seems that there is some changes coming for next patch.

It's possible to make the ragdoll have a better interaction with moving vehicles? I saw some ragdolls go through vehicle walls in various battlefield 2 mods.

can it be made so dead bodies don't spawn when a person dies within a vehicle's gunner seat, or spawns further away from the gun? this normally isn't a problem but for technicals there are often times where a body gets stuck to the gun and the next gunner to hop on can't see through it and is therefore blind.
