Re: PRTA (Europe)
Due to a recent event and similarly some issues that arose on the server. I wanted to make clear to the server population what duties and responsibilities the Administrators on the server has to follow.
This is so the primary safe guard against admins not doing their job can help us improve ourselfs.
Administrator Responsibilities (Can be alterd or out of date)
? An Administrator is in charge and responsible of the server.
? It is their duty to maintain the cohesion and order of the server.
? Administrators should act as the voice of authority on the server while online. Make sure that Administrators agree on issues, rulings, and all information to be told to the server population. For example if a player is asking a question - there should be a close to unanimous response rather than 10 different answers from 10 different admins.
? We have a set weekly maplist. After seeding this maplist must be followed. The last map that is played when the server dies must be picked back up again after seeding so the maplist can continue. Always report the last map here:http://prteamwork.com/threads/the-last-map-was.3149/
? Administrators should address all problem player issues that escalate to ban status.
? Administrators are responsible for populating and seeding PRTA servers daily.
? All Administrators should act and speak in the best interest of PRTA in public matters. It is OK to have an opinion, to disagree with management decisions, etc, but any flaming or disrespect toward a community member will warrant removal of an Administrator.
? Administrators must ensure that all players are on Mumble at all times. They also must make sure all players are in squads. Any players idle for an excess of 5 minutes should be removed from the server without warning.
? Administrators have the ability to resign any unfit Commanders and Squad leaders if communication and ability is lacking. Only do this if absolutely necessary! Always seek to improve teamwork and communication by showing good example and initiative yourself.
? Use "!say" or "!s" messages if you need to inform the server population about something of importance. Use "!say" messages often and feel free to to post about PRTA rules on the server at any time.
? All Administrators must use the xfire chat room when adminning on PRTA.
? Administrators may not join or lead any CAS squad.

Allies
Dear allies, we are currently going through a change in our Community. The PRTA Administration has created a simple concept where we give your clan or gaming group reserved slots on our server. In exchange for your seeding a empty or near empty server of PRTA.
The simple idea is that you give us the list of your ingame IDs and then we add them to our list of people that are allowed into our server.
How do i sign up?
Well send Wicca a PM. And you can sort out the details.
To make it straight. To seed means to populate an empty server to get more people joining. And reserved slots means you may join the server when its filled. For seeding the server for 1 day per week. IE an empty server, we give you and your clan reserved slots on our servers and smartbalance excluding rights.
We will also consider giving your leader switch rights. But this is a work in progress. And will be added at a later course along with lite admin.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
So the concept now is to ask more and more things of the members? I cannot seed the sever when I am at school or at work. So I will be somehow "punished" for that? Explain it. Do I keep my reserved slot? Because it gives even more reasons to join other servers if have to wait anyway.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
Well, what do you want to get the reserved slot just like that? For doing hardly anything but playing on the server when you are in the mood for it? OFC those that commit and help out the server should get rewarded for it.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:So the concept now is to ask more and more things of the members? And actually reserved slots are still distributed freely as long as you are part of a gaming group which is involved and or part of PRTA.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
Brainlaag I am not going in discussion again with you because you are like a predator waiting to verbally "kill" people. What do I give PRTA? Well a player that understands the game, helps seeding the server once in a while, a good SL, someone capable of following orders, someone who is always thinking, someone who wants the best for others.
Don't act like god Brainlaag. I know that in some cases that you are right, but it is really annoying to have a "normal" conversation when you are around.

LMAO. Usually you'd have to pay money to get a reserved slot. Now you've got the chance to get one for free and you complain? You shouldn't feel punished. You should be glad to have a reserved-slot, and you should accept that you actually have to do the server a favor in order to keep it.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:So the concept now is to ask more and more things of the members? Re: PRTA (Europe)
SaXoni, as I said there are other ways to do the server a favour. I thought that Wicca only wanted to reward seeders and admins. But some people are not able to seed or be an admin. And I felt unfair that they are "punished" for that. It turns out that they will not be punished for that, so that is no problem anymore. But still people want to give me a hard time and take me down.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
Only rewarding seeders and admins seems very fair to me. There are servers out there who don't give anyone reserved slots unless they pay money - admin/seeder or not. If you're not able to seed or be an admin you're nothing but a regular player and you should be treated like one, regardless of your skills etc.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:SaXoni, as I said there are other ways to do the server a favour. Tobacco used to be cheaper in Norway, but now they've raised the prices a lot. This doesn't make me feel like I'm being punished. Sure it sucks having to pay more money for something, but it's the same for everyone.
Seriously dude, grow up. You're on a public forum where you will be criticized. If you can't handle that I suggest you go find something else to do. I've heard Ludo is pretty friendly. But still people want to give me a hard time and take me down.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
You jump to quickly to conclusions. And it causes alot of unecessary friction. Sax and Brain was jus trying to clarify the truth. And you told them both to be quiet. They both are not in anyway obliged or given the role of giving people advice about PRTA. Yet they took their time and wrote down what was right.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:SaXoni, as I said there are other ways to do the server a favour. I think you should take a step back and maybe talk to people in TS before posting here. As your statments here might cause alot of confusion for people. And that might not be in your best intrest.
Hope you understand.

Reserved slots are something all servers ask money for, we give them for free to clans affiliated with us and to the new allies who help us seed. You should be grateful that PRTA does this, we ask for nothing and give you a free stable and working server. And you still cry about seeding?
did you know Wicca pays money for the teamspeak you use with rcoy or the server you play on? And that's it's a privilege that you have a reserved slot that allows you to play on the server while others can't? Try to think a bit the next time before you answer. Jumping to hasty conclusions doesn't help anyone.

So it's totally me being the one who can't have a normal conversation right?
Anyway, Sax, Wicca and Mineral already voiced my answer to you Pronk.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
I don't want a Golden throne, I don't need a reserved slot, I don't want an answer from Brainlaag, I do understand that I will be criticized. I do respect Wicca and if I get a new job he WILL get some money from me. I don't cry I am only saying something, but people don't like it somebody says something they don't get along with. I have that problem too sometimes and today it some kind of exploded in my head. One of the reasons is that Brainlaag seems to be hunting for my posts and that is annoying.
When I have time I will be on TS3 that is funded by Wicca and that I am grateful for. I will try and stop making quick conclusions. I hope you guys understand me. Or that you will at least respect me.

Listen, your hypocrite attitude towards me is really starting to annoy me. I'm not "hunting" for your posts, why should I waste my precious time on such none-sense? I'm not getting after anyone, I'm merely giving information and pointing out dumb and bad thought-through posts and try to get things straight. As unfortunate it might be, you are the initiator of many such posts and thus I comment on it, just like others do. I told you how things are standing, you ignored it because of personal feelings or whatever and went on full defense. Sax told you the same in a bit more elaborate and maybe even direct way, you failed yet again to see reason. Even Wicca pointed out the things and you keep nitpicking on how your AWESOME thoughts and ideas get thrown in the mud by scum like us. /irony off.
I really advise you to start THINKING before posting things. This is not only related to your previous post about the reserved slots but in general on how you spend your time here. It doesn't cast a good shadow at you as member, nor player and also pisses off people all around. As Wicca said, take your time and think things through. Reserved slots used to be for supporters only and from what I recall PRTA has been the only one to distribute it freely to ANYONE. They changed the policy because of how every random player (not being a regular, nor anything) started requesting and ended up with too many to be practicable. Now Wicca changed it to a better system, which still allows people to obtain it without cost but as long as they contribute to the server and PRTA in general. And no, playing does not count as true contribution, as you do that for your own entertainment and not the greater good.

Re: PRTA (Europe)
I respect it if they change their policy, because controlling their massive community is not an easy job. So if they want to take it away from people who are not seeding but give it that people that do seed, donate on regular basis, or are an admin I will understand that. It also gives people that are not member of the community a chance to get on the server and have a good round. The current way of handling it is also a good way but it takes an awful lot of time to control it and to keep it stable. It also needs a lot of financial recourses because you need to save their information about members. So maybe this is enough that I understand the "playing is not contributing" part. But playing for the greater good is something that will not be very clear, because there is no way that people know that you are playing for the greater good and
everyone has other standards for it , so you might say no you don't play for the greater good, while somebody else says yes. So that is a reason why I think now why that is not contributing, it takes a lot of time and thinking to notice it and make rules for it.
It needs standards, but it is hard so set those with and without input of others.

Once again
I HAS HUGE E-Penis
Also seen a noticable improvement in the quality of the server lately since autobalance has been fixed.
Also PRTA should have a slogan like...:
Play at PRTA and we give you good times?
Or something equally suggestive.
