FNG install help (installing PR/BF2 patches)

FNG here got to go to work in 20 mins so i gotta ask

just got a new computer windows 7 64 bit , whats the procedure here

install origional version
update to 1.41
then to 1.50
then install PR

any issues u can think of i wasted ages trying to install to 1.5 straight away and i have to go to the pub to download stuff so im going mad here i must play today. Can any one with a windows 7 here link me to the patches they used i tryed on 1.41 patch it said had to find A 64 BIT VERSION WTF?

i try to install patch 1.41

i get the message

failed to patch in a little window then, in a large official window it says i am patched top 1.41.

then when i try to install 1.5 it says i have al ready installed a newer version suffice to say i havent!.

so i cant install PR let alone 1.5 whats the dillio is it win7?

i have completely removed bf2 twice now and tryed to reinstall same message both times and its all set to run on compatability for xp sp3

what version of BF2 do you own?
Steam, EA Origin, Retail CD, etc?

Here is the installation guide in tl;dr format:

Install BF2.
Run BF2.
Note the version number on the bottom left corner of the log-in screen. Write it down.
log in or create a user account.
join online game.
adjust your audio and video settings now for convenience.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

(Optionally if you bought it) install Special Forces Addon.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.41 FULL PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.5 PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

Download and install 0.973 full installer.
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
join online game.

If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work. 

If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.
