Currently they are supposed to be used in ambushes.

Nothing difficult about using them except for fact that they cannot be picked up.

... But using them still basically involves sitting around twiddling your thumbs hoping somebody's going to walk by. The claymores are fine if you're playing somewhere where that's not going to be an unlikely event, like Korengal Skirmish or Kozelsk's tunnels, but they're absolutely useless on a map like, say, Pavlosk Bay.

That is a problem because in PR even supply trucks can be easily driven off-road(I wish they got old BRDM-2 physics).

It would be great if they resupply instantly, though.

I think the best solution is to give rifleman AP a rocket with high explosive warhead. That way he becomes the king of room clearing and that would be a huge step up from the pretty much useless thing he is now (in my opinion at least, ive never used him competitively and don't plan on doing so). I mean combat engy can do pretty better with c4 and arty ieds. Also all armies have missiles with frag warheads. Hope the devs consider this...

Oh but what else are we going to use Fragmentation and Thermobaric warhead against?

Armoured vehicles? lol

Anyone know if it is RPO-A in that photo?

I think it's either an RPG-26 or RPO-A Shmel the latter being most probable in my opinion

I would welcome an update to the R-AP class, agree that currently it fills a very niche role that in most matches isn't really needed or well utilised.

I'd keep the current setup of scoped rifle and claymores as the primary. This would be the defense version of the kit, allowing area denial with the claymores and then overwatch with the scoped rifle (given the removal of binos in 1.0). Then the alternate kit would be like the current L-AT but a non magnified optic with a disposable launcher with a fragmentation/HE round. This would be the assaulting kit with rocket for clearing the enemy position then ironsight weapon to do the nitty gritty.

Kind of a suggestion but still feedback on the kits direction.

Rifleman AP should be under specialist category and be able to be requested at 2 men per squad.

A relevant set up is sniper + medic + rifleman AP, where the AP rifleman provides good defense, however we cant do this with the limitation..

also, carrying 3-4 claymores at once would be nice. That or, ammo boxes giving out more than do and faster. In fact faster would be the best, as setting up a proper minefield is really hard with such a snails pace of reloading.

Anybody know what gun those guys have? Is it an AKS-74 with synthetic furniture or an AKS-74M (which I didn't think existed) or something completely different.

Is just AK-74m; you can see curve and obvious seam line on top of polymer stock from photo.

Right - current grip,Left - middle 80 years grip,Middle - AKM/AK74 grip.
Same thing with stocks, front grips etc...
And yes AK-74M have folding stock, and on photo is an AK-74M.

Mostly suggested ideas by me tells to GTFO,but also now its almost every one of them is done.
Lets back on topic
Possible ways to how to optimize AP kit:
-Claymores must have wire.Set and forget.Answers - mostly armies don't use wires, only detonator;oh no not this shit again *vanilla video*(btw insurgents use it) ;) .
-Remove claymores, add HE/Thermobaric grenade launchers(watch 1st page). Why not infantry tank HE shell for infantry, but in limited quantity.RPO actually blow-up a bit powerful(a bit means - like 152mm he Shell),but I thing such explosion will be owerpowered.

About realism.RPO - reactive flamethrower, used only by chemical defense(if it's right in english). But regular forces have another toy, called RShG-2.They looking like RPG-26,but have thermobaric warhead. They blow like 3 kilos of TNT.

Another real fact - don't know about AT4 HEDP round, but I saw some photos and videos, where US marines uses M72,possibly with HE round(M72E10?).
