Flying out of bounds with a chopper...possible or not ?

Hello my dear PR players,

A few days ago I was playing on Black Gold and I wondered how the trans chopper pilots were constantly out of the map, but neighter the pilots nor the passengers were killed :

The last status regarding flying out of the maps is for me that just fixed wing aircrafts are able to fly out of the map without punishment.

So my question is:
Is Black Gold the only map that doesn't punish out of map flights with choppers or became this feature a standard on all maps that I don't know about ?
At least I never saw choppers flying out of the map on Muttrah for more then a few seconds.

Kashan has a defective dome of death in which you can remain in it as long as you want, it does no damage. Basrah has a DoD as well, but the timer is incorrect. Its actually more like 20-30 seconds than the 9 or so the timer states. On other maps, the timer is longer for vehicles than infantry, such as Fallujah.
Generally the DoD timers are very poorly done in this mod, and its a thing of experience.

Reminds me of chopper pilots on Muttrah going out of bounds protected by the TALL mountain wall it made lol. Sometimes you could crash in invisible terrain though.

They have been noted in various other threads and acknowledged by the PR team, whether or not they will bother to fix them I don't know because the 1.0 beta changelog is encrypted and I'm not taking the time to guess at it.

Thank you for your answers so far. Seems like you should leave the DoD alone unless in a jet or if you really know what you are doing. I hope the devs know how to fix that for the upcoming 1.0 release.

Usually you're good for a small foray into OOB to avoid AA or something.
