PR:Vietnam - Charlie's Point (7 October, 1800PRT)

Vietnam will receive various updates in PR v1.0. One of these updates is a new map, Charlie's Point. This map has been ported over from Eve of Destruction and has undergone a little make-over: new overgrowth, larger playable area, different assets, terrain fixes, etc.

We'd like you to try it out, see if you like it. Help us improve the gameplay and above all, have LOTS of FUN!

What you'll need for the test event:
In order for Charlie's Point to work correctly, we had to change some "core" files as well. In the end it was much easier to just create a whole new Vietnam installer: one to rule them all! This will be the final Vietnam installer for PR v0.97.

*** uninstall any previous installs of Vietnam ***

Man i love the vietnam setting! Great map reminds me on the old days on BF:Vietnam.

Depends how you installed it: via updater, zip/rar or installer. Only if you've installed using the installer, you can uninstall.

If you want to uninstall Beta 2, but can't find it. Just uninstall Beta 1. Then go to your mods/pr/levels/ folder and delete any directories that start with "prv_" (if they're still there). And then run the new installer :) .

Technically there's no need to uninstall, as all files will be overwritten anyway. But it's cleaner I guess.

So sad this is in our german holidays, AfterDune, I (and maybe other german player too) won't be at home during that time... -.-

oh shit!

after trying this out, I've found some issues.

Firstly, I can't request kits, at all. I simply get a "unavailable for your forces" message each time. However, I can pilot helicopters with no pilots kit which is strange. This happens on every map. Even kits like AR of which I can spawn with, cannot be requested. This happens to both teams, on both static and placeable crates.

Secondly, there are hueys with only m60s that can carry 4 men, and ones with m60s that can carry eight, not sure if that's intentional.

thirdly, the loading screen doesnt say there are attack helicopters on the new map, but there is one

Feedback on patrol boats: A zoom on the main gun, and the ability for all guns to duck would be nice.

After that though, the lighting, and overgrowth on the map are awesome.
