PR not working on Windows 8 Professional

Post by [TF-R] Andy »

I recently acquired a legit copy of Windows 8 Professional 64 bit (I'm a licensed MS dev) and I can't play as I am kicked instantly from every server. Below are the messages displayed.

Does windows 8 have compatibility mode? or wouldn't that help?

Punkbuster typically doesn't support any OS until it's released for retail, and even then it could take them a while to release an update. Was the same scenario for Windows 7...

You can try doing things like running pbsetup and pbsvc in Windows 7 compatibility mode, and/or doing the same on the various punkbuster exe's, but chances are you're just going to have to wait.

Moved to support as this is not a bug.

Have had the same problem.
Just installed win 7 on a seperate partition then ran the exe's from my windows 8 directory as an administrator and you dont need to reinstall everything. :)
