Just had an awesome few rounds on 762 PRV maps, played the new one Charlie Point, and later Dien doung before the %/?? crash.
Server was pretty much full and I thouroughly enjoyed my PRV night I enjoy it so much hiding in the bushes, no scopes and smaller maps built for it.
Come on guys lets get 762 up a few more nights in the week.

It was nice to get a full server [762] going last night.
Charlie's Point seemed really hard for the US to get a foothold.
Thanks to everyone particulally my long sufering SL.

Yeah, US had a harder time than I'd imagined.. Good to know.
The US wasn't very organized, every squad went there own way. There were no combined assaults, just individual squads doing their own thing. A lot of firebases were built though, that went well - except the NVA kept destroying them
.
At one point the US captured Point Lookout and neutralized Ruins. Docks was still under NVA control. I don't know how, but the US managed to lose Ruins AND Point Lookout and had to start all over again. That was pretty ****...
I've seen a good use of mortars btw. That was pretty nice to see. But I missed a Napalm area attack for the US, they could've used that tbh
.
All in all I had a very good time
.
Remember, the server will be up for a long time, so feel free to join whenever you want!
Serverfiles will be released soon, so other servers will be able to host Vietnam Final as well.

Re: PRV FTW
The mortars where very nasty as NVA with such small flag areas. Our only saving grace where the rivers that absorbed quite alot of them.
Again because of playable area size and routes between flags it's very hard for either team to hide FOB's for any period of time centrally, US must build them well to the E and W and try to talke care when moving from them.
Its the old problem of trying to get all six choppers manned and doing a co ordinated run on a normal non event server would be hard, but I wonder about the TWO AA cannons on the first flag, that IMHO would make even a well organised full team assualt fail. They were both well maned at the start for quite some time.
I enjoyed the infantry battles hugely as I always have on PRV, the US CAS choppers didn't seem to be around that much but when they were they hurt.

Re: PRV FTW
I can only imagine the whole US team on the new map being coordinated, having the majority of the helicopters flying in at once, when boats at the same time. The map would be good for events I'd say, but in pub, it requires SL's to communicate a lot more, or what AfterDune described will happen.
I recorded our beach assault from the third round, when the server crashed. Not the best gameplay from my side, but the assault itself was successful, as we cleared the flag, if I remember right.

Organisation was ok. The sampan boats of the NVA can kill a heli in 1-2 sec. They need to be nerved, also they are like tanks. You cant kill them.

Re: PRV FTW
The sampans should be much easier to destroy since the latest serverside fix (was applied on thursday or friday). Have you played since then?
