Can't DL/Install Falklands

Having a weird issue hope someone can help =/


I have a dell XPS studio 64 bit windows 7

The problem happens no matter how I download the falklands file or where I download it from, I've torrented it via Vuze and have downloaded it from all 3 mirrors the same issue arises. I also tried using internet explorer instead of firefox same issue.

I start downloading the file and everything works normally, downloading takes around 8 min at around 1.1mb/s. When the download is finished the file is in my firefox downloads manager but not in the downloads folder on my PC. When I right click the file the usual options of open and open containing folder are grayed out and I cannot select them. I cannot double click them, I can't drag them around they are just there. On the left hand side of the file the little PR dog tags are there for the first minute of two afterwards the dogtags change into a little application symbol, not sure if this is relevant at all.

When I download it via torrent it successfully finished the DL but once it is in my Vuze downloads folder and I try to run it, it just disappears, it says Error: Data Missing C:\Users\(USER)\Documents\Vuze Downloads\prbf2_falklands_0180_setup.exe and the file is gone just like that.

Once or twice I managed to get the file into my downloads folder, when I try to run it (yes I'm running it as admin) a message appears saying something along the lines of "this is not a win32 application"

One time it magically appeared in my downloads folder, I ran it and the program actually worked and the install wizard thing popped up, but after clicking through next a whole bunch of times the program just disappeared and never installed anything.

I made sure to check if this wasn't a problem I had when downloading everything and it isn't, I successfully downloaded the .96 to .97 patch and it worked properly when I ran it. I reinstalled PR itself and nothing still.

Not sure what the problem is here but I really want to try out the minimod =/

please tell us ALL of the anti-virus, antimalware, firewall etc programs you have running on your PC.

One of your antivirus is false flagging and either putting into quarantine or deleting the installation file. I'd like to know which one as this is bound to affect other PR players.

Note that I've been too busy to install the public release of Falklands, so I am not sure exactly what the files look like.

If your antivirus has a quarantine, a.k.a. virus vault, etc, go look int here, the file might be there.

If not in quarantine, do this:
So, disable or completely shutdown your antivirus, make sure it stays shut off,
download. again.
install the file.
reboot.
restart your antivirus.
