Re: Flare gun!
Didn't find the flares, but did find spotlights. They're pretty cool
. Would work similar for a flare gun I imagine.

ye looks good, just never seen a dynamic light in BF2 light that much area before, although a flare would need to light a much bigger area, so we will have to see how that works out.'[R-DEV wrote:AfterDune;1823049']Didn't find the flares, but did find spotlights. I actually think the area of light of that spot light would fit a flare gun pretty well.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:ye looks good, just never seen a dynamic light in BF2 light that much area before, although a flare would need to light a much bigger area, so we will have to see how that works out.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

Re: Flare gun!
Well the radius for a flare would have to be much, much bigger if its going to light the surface under it when high in the sky.Sgt. Mahi wrote:I actually think the area of light of that spot light would fit a flare gun pretty well.

On an unrelated note, AD, if you havent implemented this yet, you should get a spotlight for the dday drop map to pair nicely with flakverlings and flak 88's

Re: Flare gun!
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about as well. But we would need to test what this does to performance. Easiest to test on FH2, see if it has any impact. I'm fine if the radius isn't too big, if that's the compromise to good performance.

Re: Flare gun!
The spotlight looks nice except the fact the light itself blocks so much view.
Would it be possible to have any flare type illumination have a slow descent like on a little chute?
I searched for flares on FH Forums and there were a few mentions of certain VGA's having issues - as long as it's OK on NVIDIA that's cool.

Re: Flare gun!
humm, they seem very short, small and pretty infective. Wondering what the reason behind that is. My guess is maybe down to performance reasons.
But still cool none the less

If there are flares guns, will we be able to go Pyro on the enemy?

Re: Flare gun!
They sorta look more like VERY lights, the ones they used to fire out of planes and stuff to do signalling back in WW1. But even those went for longer I'm pretty sure.
I've seen one of those parachute flares IRL, lasted quite a few minutes and was pretty noticeable even in daylight - though those aren't meant to throw light, more be really bright in the sky.

Re: Flare gun!
He filmed that on FH2.2, but FH is up to 2.45 and they look a little different now. When they land on the ground, the illuminate much more area than they do in that video.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:humm, they seem very short, small and pretty infective. my FH2 is up to date, 2.45. I filmed that on local server, dunno if that change anything, but this video wasn't filmed on 2.2

Re: Flare gun!
yes it is pretty small I recorded the same and the ilumination radius was really small, maybe it has not performance issues, i think it is like that becouse if you throw 1 flare you will illuminate almost all the area around you, and FH is not realistic in terms of gameplay, at least not as PR, so they did it like that.
