I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but I couldn't get punkbuster to work with windows 8. I used the version that comes with PR and also uninstalled that and used the updated right from evenbalance.
I was getting kicked right on joining a server for unknown api. I researched and found some posts from BF3 and other games that got the same error, but no solution.
Just a heads up if you wanted to upgrade. Might want to wait a little bit to see if evenbalance fixes it.

Yeah, I get that too. I'm assuming PB hasn't updated their program for windows 8.

I think this is the only thing holding be back from upgrading to windows 8. If anybody finds a solution or hears that its been fixed, let us know in this thread so I can reinstall windows 8.

Start a support ticket with EvenBalance and ask if/when PB will be Win8 friendly

Submitted a ticket, i get disallowed program/driver [128042] error couple minutes ingame.
