Racing wheel for PR (!!)

Post by Stemplus »

Today I managed to get my Logitech Formula GP racing wheel to work in PR. My first reaction was: HOLY FUCK. I've never had this much fun driving a logi in Muttrah City xD The steering wheel also has force feedback, so you REALLY feel when you drive onto dirt :D . Even more, I signed the pedals to the rudders in helicopters, so it is even more amazing. Did anyone try this out before? Also, when I am not touching anything the vehicle is slowly reversing, even though my deadzones are completely fine when checking them. Anyone has a fix ?? :)

That is so awesome! I always like to drive a vehicle using the racing wheel and pedals! :)

Yeah no fix. Maybe turn off force feedback?

Check if there's a setting in bf2.

I played with a wheel and pedals before for awhile, it was fun for a few hours, but then it just got annoying and in the way.

Ummm, force feedback with BF2? As far as I'm aware, BF2 has no force feedback...

I tried to get my Logitech GT pedals to work for me but they didn't register w/ BF2 so I sold it : ( shiiiiit.

Did you have to do anything to get them to work?

I'm sure it does. I use the Microsoft Force Feedback 2 Joystick and I get force feedback. I also used the Microsoft Force Feedback Steering Wheel when I was bored and I got force feed back.

You just setup your alternative mouse input to your joystick.

Could be a game configuration issue. You could try turning separate gas/brake axis on or off in the driver(if your wheel supports this), or see if BF2 supports separate axis for gas/brake.

I haven't tried it in BF2, but connecting a steering wheel is fun in Arma when your stuck with the task of being a driver in longer games.

What sparks said. Throttle/brake axis needs fine tuning in and out of the game... should be good when you play around with it.
BF2 has force feedback, you even see the steering wheel moving when you arent turning over the humps and bumps... thats a viasual cue for ffb aswell.
Biggest advantage of using a steering wheel is that you can go full throttle and full steering lock without reducing speed, like on keyboard, so have fun doing donuts in the landrovers and really tight circles with the logi trucks. :D
