Basically what the title says.
My friend is getting into DJing/mixing music, and he wanted me to find something for him.
The budget is $500. But you can go over if you think its worth it.
Suggestions?

I personally started looking at Acer V3 series - pretty badass IMO. But what are your needs? What you will do on it? (We can already exclude gaming for obvious reasons I think)

Yeah he want to get into DJing and stuff. So running media programs. So i want it to be able perform and not lag in those programs. Also a lot of gigabites because he will have a lot of songs. No gaming.

Well RAM and HDD you can change any time. I recommend Acer laptops. Pretty solid stuff they have. Just scroll thru what they have.

Get the best CPU and RAM >= 4GB at that price point.
Doing (complex) operations on files that are potentially large warrants just that.
But for that kind of money don't expect any miracles.
