CTD after 2nd connection attempt

Hi guys,
decided to get back into playing BF2 and have hit a sang.
First time i tried to play everything went fine, map loaded and played a full round, and the continuing maps loaded.
Since then, i installed Vietnam and Falklands. Having spotted the thread regarding a missing .pyc file i found that to fix the local game crashes but i am unable to join any servers.

I understand the first failed connection attempt is a PB issue, but on the second attempt the game immediately hangs and has to be forced closed.

Any ideas? and is there any output log that could give an idea?

After a complete re-install of BF2 and PB, found out the same issue was cropping up in just a vanilla 1.5 BF2 game, turns out to be bluetooth audio. Game couldn't load the audio settings page which is what lead me to check what audio devices i had activate but not as default.

So just to confirm, you solved this by changing the default audio device off the bluetooth one in your audio settings (windows)?

Sorry i forgot to check up on the thread after posting it as fixed, but on removing my bluetooth usb adapter/receiver everything was fine. Possible it was looking for the bluetooth audio output that wasn't connected.
