I play better when I'm bleeding

Post by DDS »

I play better when I'm bleeding.

If you've played along side with me you've probably heard me say this ad nauseum.

But it's true sometimes. I think for those few moments when you have your *** in a sling, down to your last clip. Your squad mates are all wounded and you've got a slog of enemies wanting your flesh. The screen fades in and out and all of a sudden it's SERIOUS.

It's on the line Bucko

Image

Your squad is down and they are counting on YOU. Your adrenaline is 110%, you reach over and slam the door shut to your office readjust your seating position "ok lets do this". Maybe this explains why you hear so many players over the years just serial rampage ownage while you lay there listening to the hog kill (thank your Anders, Krivers).

"thats 3 down.. OH SHIT.. four.. five".

Pressure. How do they do it? Luck, skill, ying yang pootang? It has too be your senses are in absolute overdrive. With a bit of fear mixed in. Heart pounding in your chest. The essence of Project Reality.

You finish off the last one and find the medic kit but your squad all gave up.

Fuck

This happens to me aswell, my educated guess, *cof* *cof*, is that when a Sq. kills 5 out of 6 enemies they, dunno why, lower their guard thinking one guy can't dominate a Full Sq. and here is when we go in SERIOUS mode.

One plus the other can be very deadly.

But I open this thread thinking it was "I play better when I'm drunk or stoned".

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

When im leading and 5 of my squadmates get mowed down because of their incompetence, i get shot and just lose my shit. Might get one or two before they get me. If im suqdmember, then it has happened that i was the last man standing and done pretty epic stuff.

Some squads can be better if they would use local mumble comms (positional audio) when in close proximity. This needs to be emphasized more imo. NOT squad channel. But a wrong key press (real life stumble over a wall) can still get you smithereens!

LOL

Sometimes it's smarter to run away, like a little girl. Another thing I say.
And come back in with a black leotards and attitude. 8-)

i have another theory.. i say you play better when you get to move however you want, aka lonewolf, it doesn't matter if you're squad is dead or you're hurt.

the best squad in existence is that of consist of 6 "lonewolfs" moving towards a common objective. however, this is really rare as you would have to know you squadmates really well. this is one of the reasons whyc lansquads usually is better than the regular pub-squad.

Been there, done that. Usually those 6 lonewolves can also play together very well, thats why they are so good.

Fuck
All this at once, I had such epic moments of bravery, true PR moments when I saved the day. But more often I simply died like the others. Depends on the stars I guess :-)

For me it mostly depends on which force I am playing :
When playing insurgency with "troll-mode" activated I find it way more easy to surprise a (bluefor) squad and wiping it out than when playing a modern force.
It could be because I dont care if I , or my sq, gets killed or not because the tickets dont count either way. + Most of the Ins Weapons simply pwn in CQC.

I have something similar but while playing on the bluefor side, mostly because I prefer playing the bluefor. And it's easier for me to shoot someone with Western arms even though they are less powerfull in CQC.

Yes sir, that is the case :-) Nothing is better than a decent sqaud of good fellows. It is the best when people know and like each other.

I can remeber one situation when one of our squadmates was badly wounded, trapped in a building surround by an enemy squad and cut of from us (I was squad's medic). We rushed to save ours wounded companion in really epic "saving private Ryan" style. We cut though the enemies, revieved the man and barely escaped. :-)

I'm lost :D .

I always thought it was because when your down to one guy your a little more willing to be sneaky and take risks because your pretty much out anyway.

Only when I'm lonewolfing. It encourages you to take more risks as you know you have to find an enemy patch to heal with.

If you're in a squad it's a PIA. And if your other SM's have been wiped out it's usually by a decent enemy squad, meaning you get one or two but they revive after the others shoot you.

Bleeding tends to make me find a safe place and sort myself out, whereas when I'm not bleeding I can get a little bit Rambo - so bleeding makes me be careful and take my time.

Whereas not bleeding lets me rush a bit...which is probably how I end up bleeding in the first place.
