To my knowledge, which is probably a load of b*llocks, the Hind isn't a CAS chopper and isn't a transport chopper but is an ASSAULT chopper. Designed to carry squads to their objective and to provide fire support.

Well close air support is supporting infantry from the air, exactly what you described. What you mean, I think is that the hind is not for interdiction, which is right.

For example an apache would find himself way away from infantry, killing armour pieces and such, with no infantry close at all. That's not CAS, it's air interdiction, which is what the Hind would not do. That's right, more or less. Though if you give the hind anti tank weapons, or enough rockets it would probably still be useful interdiction in PR

My opinion is that, people will use the Hind as attack chopper only.

The same with the IDF's Merkava, tell me of a single time that you were transported in one of those?

Havoc for AAS and Hind for insurgency maybe (I know there aren't any maps with helis...) ? Overall I prefer Havoc

Personally, I think it depends as to what the purpose would be for its use! if it's going to be for an overall CAS chopper - Havoc. For an assault chopper, Hind.

But even then things aren't so simple, as i believe the Havoc is more widely used by the Russians (though i could well be talking out of my prosterior) and other factions, such as the MEC if it were real would be more likely to use the Hind. Hell, even the militia could have a havoc they were that widely dispersed after the collapse of the soviet union!

But either way, i'd love to see the Hind in-game. I think in terms of pure bad-assery, the Hind is well on par with the Apache. Seeing either one of those coming over the hill top would make me cack myself! But as you're not meant to see an apache in the first place, the pilot would need a lecture

Im 99% certain the russians use Hind's more than havocs.

I've read that Havoc has no operational history whatsoever. As from the war videos I've seen from all around the world, I never noticed Havoc. Hind has been used by many countries around the world and it is still used today. As some people say, PR is there to create kind of imbalance in game which is good. I think it is time to move on from BF2 super fair system and recreate not theoratical and 100% balanced assets but to go for realism. I'm totally for Hind in next release. Apache!
