Just something really quick. Giving a speech for non-modelers tomorrow on the basics of modeling (in 5 to 7 minutes, like thats possible :P ), and this is my example.

3D Studio Max | Cgtuts+

you have a bunch here, some in the vray category, most in the 3dsmax, youll need to scroll through 30 pages though
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

my very first fully modelled fully self textured model. :D
I was SO afraid of texture mapping for years. and I aint a master at it yet, but now I can do it.

Next up, rigging this badboy, and animating it in a scene.

Thought I'd share my latest with you.

Last week I made a control rig for my mech. Parenting and IK chains, no skinning needed.
this week I went though the process of making a control UI for the Control Rig. While its easy enough to just grab controls, the guys i learn from thought it necessary to go through how scripting in Maya Embedded Language works. So as a goofy dumball artist it wasn't very easy. The learning curve for scripting is daunting and tedious, but I made it. It only took me a few hours to go through this.

In the top left is the button to activate the script. so all you do is open the file, click the button and the script activates and opens the window in the bottom left. Some of the script is on the right. I never did scripts before, so it was very interesting.

So there you are. :)
