Pistols - Jericho and M9

Post by M.Hart »

Alright, I was thinking about this for a very long time and couldn't find it on the forums.

I just want to make you sure these 2 "bugs" are very very little details and are not influencing the gameplay itself.

1.) Jericho pistol of the IDF has fire selector number "1" at the mag count. I was always wondering why? :D

*IS NOT BUG*2.) Are you guys sure the M9 is really M9? Isn't it supposed to be 92FS? (I mean the image while selecting the weapon.)
There are 3 little differences: a) shape of the frame (on the newer ones - those made after the first series manufactured in 80's); b) shape of the pistol grip; c) (the only 1 I can see as a player) M9 uses vertical 2-dot sight system and 92FS uses horizontal 3-dot sight system.
*IS NOT BUG*

So, as I said, these are really cosmetic things, very unimportant but I just wanted to know if you are aware of these. If these are not "bugs" then sorry for taking your time  (I would like to hear your statement to this anyway :) )

And a reminder to everyone, don't derail a bug report with 'funny videos' and such, please. This might not seem relevant to you, but these are proper reports.

As for the 92FS, I thought the US military designation was M9?

Well there could be a problem. The original version adopted by the US Military was actually 92F. 92F = M9 for civilians. 92FS is a later model of the same gun with the differences I wrote about earlier (and also they modified the hammer I think but I really am not sure about this one). 92FS then began to replace the old models.

Still though, the only thing I can see ingame are the sights, which appear like 92FS (but the front sight dot is missing or not placed properly in the texture) but the name of the weapon ingame is M9.

But as I said this is just an unimportant detail I think about for a while.

What are mine you mean. Loads of things really.. DIY, home mechanics, going to the pub with mates, reading books, PR, mindless browsing of Wiki and Liveleak, occasional exercise.. Most people wouldn't find them fun and I say each to his own! :P

It's small details like this that make a game good. Atleast in my book I want PR to be as correct and polished as it can. This gives a sense of high quality of a game/book/movie. I just hate WW2-movies where the nazis are running around with the wrong equipment and guns or flying a American fighter instead of a german one. This is a much smaller detail but still counts.

Would the new version be an M9A1 or just called a M9, even though it is different than the original. Usually the US military makes a new designation for every change and from what I know they wouldn't use the civilian designation of 92F, or 92FS.

*WRONG*92F and 92FS are actually military designations. M9 is civilian designation.*WRONG*
*Correction is in the post n.18*

It's actually the opposite of what you said.

Oops...read the text again and found out you are right...I am sorry for the miss-information.

Correction: 92F and 92FS are civilian designations and M9 is military designation. (Actually makes sense, US Military got something against all other letters than X and M :smile :) .

Then I think the M9 is right and I am at the beginning of the problem.

Isn't it irony? I got trapped in my own nonsense. Alright then bug report n.2 is incorrect and I am a stupid kid who can't read in English :o ops:

Sorry DEVs and thank you for your correction Stealthgato.
