Gamespy account creation problem

Post by Program »

I've been having tons of trouble trying to complete the Gamespy online account activation, as I keep getting the "password/e-mail already in use" or "uniquenick already in use." I've tried entering/retrieving my origin account and, obviously, trying different passwords and usernames, but am adamant about using a different e-mail adress, but if push comes to shove... Anyway, I obviously need this to play PR, so any help would be much appreciated.

Apologies for my noobish-ness,

Gamespy ID is what Battlefield 2 uses for accounts LITOralis...

Origin accounts are different to Gamespy accounts, so they won't work. Email addresses and usernames have to be unique, so if it's saying your email address is in use, perhaps try logging in with it, or try retrieving your password if you don't know what it is:

https://login.gamespy.com/lostpassword.aspx

If you've created an account in any other "Powered By Gamespy" game, or on the Gamespy or IGN network, that account should work just fine in PR:BF2, and you should be able to retrieve it. Just need to know either the username/password, or the email/password.

Having the same issue, so after reading the posts I reset my password linked to the email I use for just about everything. Gamespy login retrieval recognized my pass and I was able to reset but when I go back into PR and try to retrieve my account it says invalid. I use windows seven and downloaded PR from Desura. Bf2 is from steam but I have changed the .exe to the retail as recommended. Can anyone help me through this please? I have searched through the forums but this seems to be the only thread that discusses this issue. P.S. Dasura says PR is ready. Thank you for your consideration.

While i was unable to retrieve an account, I simply created one using a totally new e-mail account I created for PR gamespy account.

Why I can't retrieve my old gamespy account? I even installed gamespy and logged in with the same e-mail/name/password that doesn't work with with the PR retriever.

Also I can't register nor log-in on this site with the Opera browser. Had to use Firefox. What's up with that?

Nothing works.

Not sure why you can't retrieve, your quickest solution would be to create a new online gamespy account for BF2.

I use Opera on this website every day, and have been since I first joined in 2010.

You might be having one of those days where all your technology products hate you and refuse to work. Take a deep breath and play some PR until your PC decides to behave itself.
