It means that EA/Dice are having the hosts of the servers running the hacked features shutdown because they are (according to EA/Dice) violating on the EULA Agreement that came with the demo.

hmm thats weird that theyd let people put out mods for free like DC and PR and FH for free, those totally change what EA/DICE is doing (for the better of course) and they support MOD communities but they shut down servers that mess with the demo to (like MODs for full version games) make them better

i have also noticed two other glitchs.. when i was in the cobra i hit a target on the ground then i shot my missle toward teh enemy base to reload another round of clip. when i did this i got a "team damage" i didnt even hit a player. another thing that happen was that i was in a fighter that i locked on to i shot 4 missles he did the usaly used flares 3 of my missles hit a dune buggie on teh floor(locked on to it gauss) kills my squad mates ironicly

also i would kill a enemy in a tank and get the kill as i were in there tank.. so example would be if i bombed them with a mig and they were in a m1a2 tank i would say i was in the m1,,

EA isn't considering the server side changes modding. They are looking on it has hacking, wich it kind of is. People aren't expected to mod demos. Of course EA could've just left the unlockable weapons out of the demo, then people wouldn't have been able to get to them because they wouldn't have been there. As for time limits, that was just a stupid thing to begin with. But I suppose we should respect EA's decision to only let us play for 12 minute periods over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.

That says it all for me. I love my Radeon 9250, and if they want me to DOWNGRADE my card to play their game, well then they can take a nice long walk off a short pier. Not smart on their behalf, Im not the only one.

I just pray new driver fixes come out from ati fast.

No the wierd thing is Dice/Ea are not shutting the servers down which have hacks on them. All they have done is remove them from the game browser for a week :? So the server are still running and next week will be back on the browser lists. Ea have said they dont discourage mods etc as long as they increase the amount of Bf2 units sold. Hacks to almost make the free demo like a game may stop people bying bf2 to get all the extra stuff with it, such as weapons and no time limits :P

That's true, you can still connect to the hacked/modded servers through IP or an external browser like ASE. Too bad ASE doesn't support the demo yet, but I think there is a way to make your own filters.

My 2 centsâ$¦

Starting the demo and spawning on the carrier, I thought JEZUS! YES! Heloâ$™s, Jetâ$™s, Speedboats! Goalkeeper! Yes!

Getting on the beach side: I thought look at all the surroundings! Cool! Birds flying of, Jetâ$™s passing over, Heloâ$™s making 180â$™s, AVPâ$™s cruising by, Tank using a small hill as a ramp to get airborne, Dune buggyâ$™s very cool!

But thenâ$¦

Tanks drives by, Helo shoots missilesâ$¦ 1.. 2.. 3.. Tank goes Boom! Then I thought 3? Mhh..
Anywayâ$¦ Spot an enemy! wOOt! I take a knee.. Get my iron sight up and start shooting in â$œcontrolled burstsâ$ and thenâ$¦ Nothing.. I thought ****. So I kept shooting a whole while moving towards and then finally 5 meters away he dies.. Then I thought these hitboxes suck real bad. I am hoping they would take a look at AA or so.
Anyway, I see an enemy and prep a frag. Perfect aiming and very close to the enemy.. Then? He just walks away!

Anyway I just hope the retail has all these â$œlittleâ$ problems fixed.


P.S - If this all reads confusing then blame the coffee machine at work ok?

To everyone: I just wanna say that the demo should be more up to date than the full if they even differ. Just my 5$ ;)


Are real marine soldiers in this forum here? I could use some hints..

All of the things youre saying, i have trouble believing them as much as you do. i dont think that the ammount of firepower it takes to knock out a tank will change but PR will fix that, as for the hitboxes, all i can say is if EA/DICE hope to keep the BF franchise strong, those things will be fixed, the firing will be much more solid, if still unrealistic in how much lead you have to pump into a guy before he takes a fall, again PR will fix that but the retail versions firing should still be much more solid than the demo's.

Looks like we'll all have to rely on PR to make this game worth playing. Its pretty frustrating especially when your used to the great gameplay of FH or DC. Just my $.02

i think it sucks that my videocard doesnt work for this game... it plays Doom3 well, its a Nvidea5500. And now I have to try and sell that thing on ebay, and then buy a new card, I play the demo on my parents "business" computer. but i figured if this card played Doom3 it should handle BF2.. nope. And with BF2 and Nvidea being so close, im scarred to start going ATI (even though i hear from most of my computer tech friends they are better). i dont know why im rambling about this.. i saw someone else mention videocards earlier.

I like the demo - it has issues, as mentioned by others, but overall it is awesome. With the squad leader spawning, you really get some intense squad vs squad combat.

On the subject of the ATI cards thing - I have an X800XT PE and have no problems running the game. Is there an issue with ATI cards?

Arrow, Which part is it you donâ$™t believe? And I know for a fact, that the m67 nades have a greater field of fragmentation spread then the game portrays they have. And they do not bounce around like rubber balls either as they do in the demo. But anyway I hope the retail has this all fixed.

Those rubber grenades really must be fixed. I hate the idea of throwing a renade and not knowing if it will bounce back at my feet :cry: .......

Oh too true... They barely even roll far unless you really reem on it. But usually when i throw em, Im just focusing on getting the damn thing away from me, not rolling it! Field of radius on a grenade is HUGE, the EFFECTIVE radius of a grenade is a different story. Nonetheless, I certainly wouldnt want to be standing 20 ft off from one when it goes...

I was throwing grenades at a guy inside of one of the dumpsters at the construction site. I threw ALL of my grenades, one after the other they bounced out... after he got the flag he stood up and I was able to shoot him but still. Grenades shouldn't bounce!

At least they aren't like in BF, it was like bowling.

i think we can all agree that there needs to be major changes made, the bunny hopping added to the 4 foot jumps is rediculous, as is the ammount of lead you need to fill a guy with to get him killed

So, I'm facing an enemy at the other side of the fence. I decide to throw a satchel over, and try to jump while throwing to make it go over. This works, I kill the guy, but the physics on that satchel as is goes up and over; seldom have I seen such crappy physics!! It goes up, and then suddenly it seems like gravty decides to act upon it and bring it down. There's no smooth arc path that it follows, just see for yourselfs, it really sucks! I also expect that when I throw it, it will spin around somewhat in the air before landing, but no, it's like it has a label on it that says "this side up at all times" all the way through the air. I was so disappointed! Now, Call of Duty; throwing a satchel there was nothing but beauty...
