Programming for mapmaking?

Hey guys, I am really interested in making singleplayer maps, I am prepared to put in alot of work and time, the only thing I need to know is if I require any programming skills? Or is it possible to make maps without programming, and especially Singleplayer maps with bots?

Check out bfeditor.org for lots of awesome tuts, for single player though you need to learn how to navmesh And learn how to deal with bots which does involve a bit of know how and coding. Making the map though isnt too bad download the BF editor v1.3 and follow some tuts. Is it for PR or just your self?

I highly highly recommend using that site, its where I started, tons of stuff ;) GL if you need help getting started you can PM me if you want

Alright, do you think it's possible to make a map and do all the things necessary and then forwards the map to someone who can add bots to it ? And do you think I can find someone here on the forums or do you think it's too much work with it so nobody will want to help me ?
I would like to make it co-op so i know after all the hard work atleast I will be able to play it if nobody is hosting it on MP. Btw I am not aiming for the stars I understand practice makes perfect, are you sure there are no "simple" way of adding bots? Thanks for your reply and tips, I will take a look that site(and i guess about 1000 more :P ) :)

Yes if you make the map you can give it to someone too add bot support, if its just vBF2 itll be easier than PR. Maybe do it yourself? Ill link the tut for it when I get home, i dont know a whole lot about adding SP but ive seen some tuts that dont look super complicated. Also on this forum i dont know if anyone would/could do it, but maybe on bfeditor, thats why I suggest you do it

As I see it, there is a whole bunch of mappers in the community and next to noone who can add bots to maps, if you are interested there is plenty of maps that could use bots added to them.

It would be best to learn to navmesh a map yourself, there are few of us who can navmesh and nearly no one who would be willing to spend what little time we have navmeshing a map that is not officially for PR.

If however your are willing to learn then there are some things to keep in mind when making a map that will be navmeshed that most tutorials wont tell you. This video explains it well:
