no servers displayed

Hi everyone,

Haven't been on pr for a year or two, and have been trying to get back as of late. I run into a bit of a problem though, and haven't been able to find any info on no servers (non-steam).
BF2 I can join servers but not pr.

Any help would be nice!

Windows 7 x64
BF2 1.5 patch was installed,
the three parts of the pr 0.973 were installed
tried replacing the BF2.exe as with the steam problems (just for kicks)

I'll post this just so you can check your steps so far:

LITOralis.nMd']Was BF2 installed and working before you installed PR? Was BF2 patched to 1.5 ?
Can you log in to vanilla BF2?
If BF2 was already working, we'll suggest one course of action. (Could be firewall/antivirus/router/installation error/etc)
IF BF2 was just installed NOW so you can play PR, all the parts have to be installed in proper order.
Please read below and make sure you installed BF2 and PR in this order:

Here is the installation guide in tl;dr format:

Install BF2.
Run BF2.
Note the version number on the bottom left corner of the log-in screen. Write it down.
log in or create a user account.
join online game.
adjust your audio and video settings now for convenience.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

(Optionally if you bought it) install Special Forces Addon.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.41 FULL PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.5 PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

Download and install 0.973 full installer.
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
join online game.

If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work. 

If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.

You can then download the PR:Vietnam, PR:Normandy, PR:Falklands and Anders Soundmod at your discretion.

IS PR.exe or TR.exe blocked by your firewall or antivirus?

Are you using the same installation of the OS you were using last time you played PR?


If yes,
Might have some remnant in your registry saying you still have 0.95 or whatever installed.
Run the correct registry patch for your OS, either the 32 or 64 bit patch:

Does the PR menu say 0.97 on the bottom left of screen?

Im pretty sure it does, i'll go double check, and no the antivirus and firewall are not blocking pr, it has been added to the exception list

*yup thats a big negative on the version number to the lower left of my pr menu, the only thing under the actual menu (like in the border) is
"PR"
"Realitymod.com"

and a news line, not quite a ticker but ya,comes up blue white and red i think

I was asking about the first Login screen where you select the player profile to log in as. it should say v0.973 on bottom left.

Open up vanilla BF2,
Does your BF2 run as v1.5.3153-802.0 ?

I suggest reinstall punkbuster updater. PunkBuster Online Countermeasures

Also, go to PRSPY server browser here: https://www.realitymod.com/prspy/#/servers/viewall/
Select a server,
Shift click or alt click to open server in PR.

Also, when you start vanilla BF2, can you see servers in the multiplayer server list?

Clear any filters in the vanilla BF2 server browser too.
