Unable to start up pr

Had no problem playing .97 before
This problem occurs after I install .98. I installed bf2 and other mods manually to my HDD to save space on the SSD and get this message during installation.


I select cancel, it proceeds to install, then when i try and load up pr through desktop icon and pr.exe, the PR logo appears and goes to a black screen for 2 seconds and returns me back to desktop.

Reinstalled PR .97 and .98 and tried again with no luck.
Anyone know the problem?

You can use this:

Then you do this:

Download and install the PR 0.973 to 0.981 Patch
(If it CTDs, Edit the PR shortcut as described below.)
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
join online game.

If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work. 

If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.

Start vBF2 in windowed mode, adjust your video settings, join a server,
exit.
then try to start PR in windowed mode.

Same error message running vbf2, I will try reinstalling the whole thing and try again

find this: \mods\pr\readme\extras\RenDX9.dll , copy it, paste and overwrite existing version in your main BF2 folder.

It is simply the 1.5 widescreen support hotfix version of dx9 library.

Bf2 and pr start up just fine. Able to join most servers, however a few including NEW and HOG gets this error message

Umm, I'm not sure,
You might need to uninstall the Beta Tester version , uninstall 0.981, then reinstall 0973 and then 0981 and then beta test version.

But I think you need to ask one of the R-Dev guys, this is beyond my knowledge level.

Was it due to particular map (0973 or 0981 map?) or particular server? Important question.

I just did a fresh reinstallation, pr is the only mod i installed so far. I think it's a map issue or something to do with .98 not installing correctly. Tried this on local, some maps worked fine but other maps that have no map icon in the menu crash when i try to load. This also appears when I first log in



completely redownloading everything from a different mirror, hopefully this solves it this time
