Disappearing Crates

All maps.....Highest video settings....Win 7 64 Nvidia SLI


I cannot drop crates from a logi. All crates disappear. They are not there. Kits not obtainable or building allowed.

Crate drop reading goes from two to zero with one click.

Reloaded ENTIRE GAME AND PATCHES several times. Graphics ( several versions) Same problem.

Everything else within the game is normal.

Please advise.

This to sounds like it's trying to drop a bridge. Make sure you select the right item in the list.

Nope I am not selecting bridge. I have dropped thousands of crates in my lifetime on PR. This has only been an issue the last 4 months.

This is fairly easy to see if it indeed a bug. Go on an online server, drop a crate when somebody else is near ya, and see if he can see it or not. If he can see it , then it is indeed a bug, if he sees nothing, then you are doing something wrong

A new twist. Just for the fun of it I installed the newest patch only. Now the crate issue is random. They drop 40% of the time. Other players cannot see or use crates when they are not visible to me. No user error in the mix.

Not to chime in with my opinion, but I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago. Dropped crates and they weren't there; like they fell through the ground or something. I forget what map that was on. What map were you on when this happened to you?

I had similar problems once on Ia Drang. Was droping crates from chopper to build mortar, drop 2 of them, but I could built only FOB. I dropped one more, and find out that this crate was slipping downhill and falling into hole, when old crate was, it moved toward it, didn't collide with it and finally merged with old one, and I still couldn't build Mortars. I drop it once more, and build it before it disappeared.

I'm not much of a mapping guy, in fact, I have absolutely no idea what I'm about to say here, but, I wonder if there is some kind of problem with the terrain on that map... I remember having something slightly similar happen like that on Ia Drang. Dropped crates and they fell through the ground. But like I said, not a mapping guy, and I have no idea what I'm talking about or looking at on that. Input from a mapper? Can we get into mapping theory here?
